This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available June 3 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

5-26  Police responded to a report of theft in the 1800 block of Second Street where a resident reports that an unknown suspect stole her clothing out of the apartment complex’s dryer and that she is now unable to locate these items. The victim advised that this occurred on Sunday, May 24 at approximately 2200 hours. The resident advised that she did wish to prosecute in regard to this incident.

5-29  A Cuyahoga Falls man reported that his Taurus GTC 9mm was stolen from his vehicle between 2100 hours on May 28 and 1830 hours on May 29. No leads or suspects. The man wishes to prosecute. Total loss is $280. The firearm was entered into LEADS as stolen.  The report was supplemented on May 31 when the “stolen firearm” was located in the luggage of the owner at the Cleveland Hopkins airport during a TSA check. The owner realized his firearm was never stolen but lost in his luggage. Cuyahoga Falls Police called Cleveland Police to confirm the details and serial number. The firearm can be un-entered from LEADS and the case is closed.

5-30  A 34 year old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that while driving east on Portage Trail approaching Front Street, an unknown juvenile male threw a container of nacho cheese from the sidewalk. The cheese struck the front passenger side of the windshield causing a baseball sized smudge. The driver fled the scene and pulled into a business where no damages were found. The driver declined prosecution and CFPD was unable to locate the perpetrator.

5-30  Police made a traffic stop on a red Mazda 6 that was north bound on Sixth Street near Washington Avenue without any taillights on after dark. Police identified the driver for the equipment violation and the front seat passenger for a seatbelt violation. Both occupants had recent narcotics history, and a K-9 was called out to the stop where they indicated on the vehicle. During the probable cause search, police found needles, tin foil with burn marks, containers and straws with unknown white powder residue, and foil bindle with an unknown brown powder and a metal container with unknown white crystal substance. The evidence was collected and the unknown powder and crystals sent off to BCI for testing. The driver and passenger were cited for traffic violations and released.

5-31  Cuyahoga Falls Police responded to a report of intoxicated males walking back to their vehicles from Water Works Park. On scene officers observed a gray Ford Fusion attempting to leave the park. Once stopped officers made contact with the driver who smelled of an alcoholic beverage, had slurred speech, bloodshot and glossy eyes and had three open containers of alcohol in his vehicle. The driver stated he was driving the car and that he had consumed alcohol earlier in the day. The driver was arrested and transported back to CFPD for booking. Once back at CFPD, the driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests and completed the tests in the sally port. The driver refused to provide blood and urine when asked but did provide a breath sample. The driver was given a personal recognizance bond and released to his grandmother.

6-1  Police responded to the 2500 block of Whitelaw Street where a resident reported that while walking with her dog on the sidewalk a tan/brown pit mix dog ran loose from a residence, attacking her dog. The woman’s dog sustained injuries and was taken to Metro Animal Hospital. The woman doesn’t wish prosecution in this incident.

6-1  A Ninth Street resident reported to police around 0420 hours an unknown suspect entered her vehicle without permission and stole the listed items totaling around $600 and several credit cards. There are leads but no suspects. The resident stated she does want to prosecute.

6-1 Five Cuyahoga Falls residents reported to police that their vehicles were all gone through by an unknown white male overnight. All parties report that nothing of value was taken and there was no damage to anyone’s vehicles. The unknown male seems to be involved in multiple vehicle trespasses on Eleventh, Ninth, and Seventh Street overnight. All parties request prosecution if identified. There are leads at this time.
