This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available July 1 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
6-22 A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported that they observed a 46-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man who was caught on video stealing a Core Power drink and two chocolate milks ($11.77). Officers located the suspect and were able to retrieve the merchandise. The suspect was charged with theft and issued a court date set to appear at Stow Muni Court. Officers cleared without further incident.
6-22 At the intersection of State Road and Portage Trail police observed a black 2013 Lincoln that fled from police after a traffic stop was initiated for driving on a sidewalk on State Road just south of Portage Trail. The vehicle traveled at slow speed southbound and came to a stop on State Road near Schiller Avenue. The driver did not possess a driver’s license and did not appear to know the rules for driving a motor vehicle. The driver was cited and released on scene.
6-22 A grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road contacted police after a woman was observed going past the point of sale and attempting to leave the store without paying for miscellaneous consumable goods totaling $561.11. The items were recovered by loss prevention before she exited the building. Store employees stated they would prosecute. The suspect was given a summons for theft and advised that she was trespassed from the store.
6-22 A 32-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man contacted police after finding that an unknown person stole his basketball from under a bench in the Natatorium gym while he was playing a basketball game. The ball is worth $100, and the victim will sign charges. There is a lead.
6-23 A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported to police that a suspect was seen on camera taking two double packs of Hostess jumbo donuts into the bathroom and concealing them in his backpack. The suspect then exited the store without paying and stole a total of $4.78. The manager signed charges for theft, and the shoplifter was released with a summons.
6-24 Police were requested at a fast-food restaurant in the 1700 block of State Road where a known female entered the store and filled up a cup with a fountain drink without paying. The manager stated they would not like to prosecute but would like the female and her acquaintance trespassed. Officers located the two subjects and advised them of the trespass.
6-25 Police responded to a grocery store in the 2200 block of State Road where an employee told police the suspect, knowingly being trespassed from the store, was seen walking though the isles in the store. While inside he attempted to steal two prepackaged food items worth a total of $12 and was confronted by a store employee. When the suspect was confronted, he used a closed fist and struck her on the left side of the face in an attempt to get away and fled the store on foot with the stolen items. The suspect was located and charged with Robbery and Criminal Trespass.
6-25 During a traffic stop on Howe Avenue for a moving violation, a driver was found to be driving under suspension. A probable cause search was conducted after a positive K9 alert to the vehicle. During the search, CFPD located multiple straws, a torn plastic baggie with residue, and one Vyvanse pill. The suspect was released on scene with a traffic citation and a summons for drug paraphernalia. She was warned for possession of the pill. The vehicle was towed by B&B.
6-25 Police initiated a traffic stop on a Kia Santa Fe for expired tags on Main Street near Loomis Avenue. Officers observed an open container in plain view. The driver gave consent to conduct a vehicle search where officers located a 500 ml container of Vendange Pinot Grigio. The driver was cited for Open Container in a motor vehicle a Minor Misdemeanor.
6-30 A 40-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man contacted police that he met a known male on Facebook and agreed to let him borrow his 1989 Plymouth Conquest vehicle for a day. The victim stated they both signed a contract in agreement to have the car back on May 1, 2026, but the known male has not returned the car or answered any forms of communication. The victim wishes for prosecution, there is a lead and a suspect. The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen.
