Cuyahoga Falls Police Blotter: January 28-February 4

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports between January 28 – February 4 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

February 1 A resident in the 3700 block of Eakins Road reported an unknown suspect keyed all four sides of his vehicle. The owner estimates the cost of the damage to be $500. Police have an investigation pending.

February 1 A resident in the 300 block of Taylor Ave reported sometime between January 31 and February 1, an unknown person gained access to her unlocked vehicle and stole a red pocket knife valued at $10. No damage was observed to her vehicle and the owner chose not to prosecute.

February 2 During a traffic stop on Route 8 at Howe Road, a 35-year-old Akron driver was found in possession of 4 pounds of raw marijuana. The passenger was also found in possession of a loaded Glock 43X on his person. Both persons were transported to Cuyahoga Falls Jail where they were processed. When booking was complete, they were both transported to Summit County Jail. Their vehicle was impounded.

February 2 A Meredith Lane resident was stopped for a lane violation, during which the individual admitted to the officer that he was in possession of approximately 3.6 grams of presumptive positive methamphetamine. The individual was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor marked lane violation and a class 3 felony. The individual was transported to Summit County Jail.

February 4 Police responded to a welfare check in front of a business in the 2900 block of Oakwood Drive for two individuals asleep in a motor vehicle that was running. When the police arrived, they found the two occupants asleep and a strong odor of alcohol could be smelled around the vehicle. The individual in the driver’s seat was suspected to be impaired and subjected to field sobriety tests and was later placed under arrest for having physical control of a motor vehicle. He did submit to a breath test and blew a .09 and was cited for physical control and released to a sober individual.

February 4 Two employees of a fast-food restaurant in the 1900 block of State Road reported an unknown female entered the store, threw food and had brandished a firearm after her food order was made incorrectly. The female had pulled the gun out and had it pointing at the ground for the duration, but she did state “don’t make me have to use this.” There are possible leads on the suspect.  Both employees wish to press charges and the owner wants the suspect trespassed.
