This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available September 23 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
9-15 Police responded to an altercation over a grocery store parking spot in the 2800 block of State Road. Male 1 reported someone jumping into a parking spot in which he was trying to park. When police arrived on scene, male 1 was taking a picture of male 2’s license plate. When police approached him, male 2 was coming back to his car with male 1 started yelling at him and male 2 began yelling. Male 1 stated he was turning down an aisle to park in the front spot, closest to the store, when male 2 cut him off and pulled in behind. When police spoke to male 2 he stated the other male was taking too long to turn so he pulled into the spot before him. Both parties were warned for disorderly conduct.
9-15 Police made a traffic stop on Graham Road on a 2013 Dodge for an equipment violation. While speaking with the occupants, officers discovered a small bag of raw marijuana in the passenger’s pocket. The marijuana was not in the original packaging. Both occupants were warned for their infractions and released. The 5.3g of marijuana was tagged for destruction.
9-16 A resident in the 2500 block of Roth Drive reports that after work she came home to find hand prints on her window and noticed that the screens had been lifted on both front windows to the house. She was in the house for around 15 minutes before she noticed. Upon arrival officers searched the house with nothing located. The hand prints show that there was an attempt to raise the window, but no entry was made. The resident does not want to pursue any charges at this time.
9-18 Police responded to State Road and Valley Road for a report of a Saturn Orange SUV that went off the road and crashed into a light pole. The driver was identified and placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence. The driver was brought back to the station, where she refused a breath sample. She was booked, and released to a sober party.
9-19 A welfare check was called in for a male with a bicycle that was yelling and screaming in the area of North Haven Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. Police checked the area and located a male with a bicycle walking down North Haven Boulevard with what appeared to be an open container of King Cobra Beer in his left hand. The suspect was cited for open container in a public place and released to his sister who lived nearby. The can was emptied and properly disposed of. Cleared without further incident.
9-20 The manager of a pet supply store reported that an unknown female suspect entered the business in the 1900 block of Portage Trail, loaded a shopping cart with dog food and attempted to leave the business without rendering payment. The manager was able to confront the unknown female and recover all of the stolen merchandise prior to her leaving the business. The female suspect then left the area prior to officer arrival. The items that were attempted to be stolen were four bags of Redwood Natural Dog Food, totaling $267.92. The manager advised that he did not wish to prosecute at this time and that he wanted the female suspect criminally trespassed.
9-21 Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Whitelaw Street for a report of tampering with motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the vehicle owner, who states an unknown person opened her unlocked car door and rummaged through items. They state no items were taken or damaged. The victim does wish to prosecute. Video evidence is available.
9-21 The owner of a State Road restaurant reported that a known male ordered two alcoholic beverages totaling $25.08. The male’s card was declined, and he left the restaurant without paying. The owner does not wish to pursue charges but requested the male be trespassed from the restaurant.
9-22 Police responded to a manufacturing plant in the 2900 block of Vincent Avenue where a former employee was reported as being intoxicated and was refusing to leave his work after he was terminated by his employer. He was reported to then have become belligerent with other employees. The suspect was cited for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
