This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available May 22 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

5-10 An Americana Drive resident reported that an Echo weed trimmer, an Echo yard blower, a subwoofer box, and an ATG brand car stereo amplifier were taken from his unlocked pickup truck. Estimated loss is $1,500. The Echo tools are used as a part of his landscaping business. Victim would like to prosecute. No leads or suspects.

5-10  The manager of a fast-food restaurant in the 2600 block of State Road reported that an employee who works for her stole her unique ring. The manager states that it went missing a year ago this month, and yesterday she saw the ring on her employee’s right hand. She states that she was able to confirm that it was the missing ring. The victim does want to pursue charges.

5-10  The manager of an eyeglass store in the 2000 block of Portage Trail reported that an individual stole three pairs of Ray-Ban glasses from the store. The manager advised the suspect placed a pair of glasses in his coat pocket, and two other pairs in his back jeans pocket, then walked out of the store without paying. The total loss to the store was $611. Officers located the suspect at a bus stop near the store and was charged with shoplifting and trespassed from the store at the request of the manager. The glasses were returned to the store.

5-10  A resident of the 1200 block of Hunter Parkway summoned the police to report the theft of tools, a molle sling bag, voltage meter and Milwaukee drill from out of his work van. The victim told police that approximately 15 hand tools were in his work bag that was stolen. He reports that his van was believed to be locked, however, the lock on the sliding door of his work van has been malfunctioning. The man stated his van was parked near his residence when the theft occurred. Total approximate loss reported $600. There are no leads or suspect. The victim states they will prosecute.

5-10 A resident of the 1300 block of Hunter Parkway also contacted police about a theft of tools from his work vehicle. Reported missing were his tool pouch and tools. The vehicle was reported to be parked near the victim’s residence. Stolen were hand tools as well as a Milwaukee drill which belong to the victim’s employer. There are no leads or suspects. The victim’s employer states they will prosecute.

5-12  Police responded to a convenience store in the 600 block of West Portage Trail Extension for an altercation between two Akron men. Witnesses reported one man initiated a verbal argument with the other and punched the man’s vehicle as he was driving away. That caused the second man to get out of his vehicle and punch the first man in the face. The two began to mutually fight and eventually ended up on the ground. Eventually one of the men drove away from the scene. Police were able to locate both men and they were cited for disorderly conduct.

5-12  Police took a report in the 3200 block of Prange Drive where an unknown suspect attempted to steal a 2017 Kia Forte. The victim reports the suspect shattered the rear driver-side window and removed the upper steering column cover along with the ignition switch that was damaged beyond operability. The damages to the Kia Forte have an unknown value. There is a lead, and the victim wishes to prosecute.

5-14  Police responded to an apartment complex on Cathedral Lane to remove a suspect. CFPD states the individual returned to the property without privilege to do so after receiving numerous notices to vacate the location from management and law enforcement. The man was given official trespass warning on 10/06/2023. He was arrested for criminal trespass on 05/06/2024 at the same location. The building manager did wish to proceed with criminal charges again. The man was issued a summons and released.
