Cuyahoga Falls Police Blotter: March 13, 2024

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available March 13th and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

2-27 A Winter Parkway resident reported that persons unknown stole their prescription from the building’s mailroom. There are no suspects.

2-29 A resident in the 2700 block of 9th street reported that a person broke the rear window out of his 2007 Pontiac while it was parked in his driveway. Damage was estimated at $300 and it is unknown what was used to cause the damage. There are no leads or suspects.

3-2 A bar owner in the 1800 block of Front Street reported that a known female damaged the toilet in the restroom of the bar and left the building. The owner was able to flag her down and she admitted to the damage and agreed to put the damage on her credit card. The owner chose not to prosecute. 

3-4 Police responded to the 1900 block of Jefferson Ave. for a report of vandalism. The resident reported to the police that two unknown male juveniles ran on to her porch and knowingly kicked her front door approximately three times. The kicks caused damage to both the door and door frame estimated at $1,050. The resident does wish to prosecute.

3-4 Police responded to a fight between two juveniles in the 2600 block of North Haven Blvd. Both parties were split up upon arrival. CFFD evaluated and released one juvenile on scene for an injury to their upper lip and wrist. CFFD then transported the juvenile to their residence. The parents of both parties were advised. This matter will be referred to the CFPD Juvenile Officer. Charges were signed against both juveniles.

3-4 Police responded to a call in the 3400 block of Caleb Street for the report of two neighbors fighting. Two known neighbors had a verbal dispute over a child accidently falling into one of their fences. A witness to the argument stated both parties were screaming and cursing from their respective properties and there was no physical violence, or threats made. Both parties were warned for their disorderly behavior.

3-5 Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct at a food establishment in the 1700 block of State Road. The manager reported that two employees began shoving each other when one of the employees refused to get off their phone. The manager instructed one of the employees to leave the store and they did. No charges were filed.

3-6 A Fourth Street resident was observed by police having difficulty keeping his vehicle within his lane in the area of Front Street and Broad Blvd. The driver was signaled by overhead blue lights and siren to pull over after committing multiple marked lanes violations. He didn’t comply and continued at a slow rate of speed and eventually pulled into a driveway. He was found to be OVI. He was processed and taken to detox.

3-8 A business in the 3700 block of State Road reported to police that an unknown person used the business account number to electronically pay for $160.93 at Spectrum Wireless. The business owner stated the charge was refunded. There are possible leads at this time. The owner wishes to prosecute. 

3-9 An officer observed a vehicle pulling out of a business in the 1200 block of Main Street. The officer observed multiple traffic infractions and attempted a traffic stop on the Route 8 South entrance ramp from Howe Ave. The suspect failed to comply with the overhead lights and sirens and continued driving south on Route 8 reaching speeds over 100 MPH. The pursuit was terminated by the supervisor on shift near the Perkins exit of Route 8 South. A follow up investigation has provided the police with a lead on the suspect.

3-9 A report of vandalism was filed with police by a resident in the 3200 block of 7th Street. The resident reported two unknown persons threw a rock at a family member’s vehicle that was parked on the street. A witness advised they saw a white or silver sedan drive north on 7th street at approximately 35 mph. The sedan honked its horn driving past the residence then accelerated. A rock was located in the street with paint chips on it that matched the vehicle. The resident advised they will prosecute.
