This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available June 10 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
6-1 An 11th Street resident reports that an unknown person went into her unlocked vehicle which was parked in her driveway. The unknown person took change and a few medical items totaling around $5. The resident would like to prosecute if located.
6-2 An Akron man contacted police after finding someone had stabbed the right rear tire on his 2002 Trail Blazer. The vehicle was parked in a parking spot in front of 412 Howe Avenue. The total cost to replace the tire is $200. The man will prosecute for Criminal Damaging.
6-3 Officers responded to the 2900 block of State Road for a report of an intoxicated person. The suspect was present as evidenced by a car having struck a pole in the parking lot. Officers spoke to the suspect who admitted to drinking and field sobriety tests were conducted. The suspect was placed under arrest for OVI and transported to CFPD for booking. The suspect was released to her sister with a court date set to appear at Cuyahoga Falls Mayor’s court. Officers cleared without further incident.
6-6 A resident in the 3300 block of Prange Drive reported to police that an unknown female juvenile in red shorts and a white flower shirt donkey kicked his metal storm door, leaving a portion of it significantly dented. The resident valued the damages to be approximately $150. Prosecution is desired. The juvenile fled prior to CFPD arrival. Currently there are no leads.
6-6 During a traffic stop at 9th Street and Grant Avenue, a 26-year-old Akron man was found to be in possession of 540.3 grams of leafy marijuana in different bags prepared for sale, 10 grams of marijuana THC edibles, drinks, and vapes in different bags prepared for sale, $4,516 cash in mostly $20s, $100s, $1s, $50s and $10s (all consistent with trafficking drugs), an open container of Don Julio tequila, 1400 rolling papers, and a false can. A known female, while on the same traffic stop, was found to be in possession of 540.3 grams of leafy marijuana in different bags prepared for sale, 10 grams of marijuana THC edibles, drinks, and vapes in different bags prepared for sale, $4,516 cash in mostly $20s, $100s, $1s, $50s and $10s (all consistent with trafficking drugs).
6-8 The manager of a grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road reported an unknown white male was found sleeping in the cafe. When the male refused to leave upon request, the manager advised that he preferred the male get a trespass warning. The unknown male was identified and advised not to return to the property upon departure.
6-8 Police responded to the 2100 block of Cook Street for a woman causing a disturbance to others by yelling outside the residence on Cook Street, The PD received multiple calls regarding this. The woman stood on the Jeep of a neighbor but didn’t cause any damage to the vehicle. The woman did admit that her only intention of being in Cuyahoga Falls was to fight. The woman was cited on scene and was released.
6-9 A Cuyahoga Falls police officer attempted to stop a gray colored sedan for no license plate lights. After initiating lights and sirens, the vehicle began to drive away at a high rate of speed. CFPD pursued the vehicle to Cuyahoga Street and the Valley Metro Park and terminated the pursuit due to unsafe speeds. There are leads at this time.
6-9 A home improvement store in the 300 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that an employee failed to scan 20 boxes of vinyl flooring for a customer. The loss totaled $1,322.40. The store wishes to prosecute the employee. Charges were signed for the cashier, and she was arrested and booked into the Cuyahoga Falls Jail. She was then transported to Stow Municipal Court, and a court date was set.
