This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available between February 15-21 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

February 5 A loss prevention employee of a department store in the 400 block of Howe Ave. reported that he approached a 22-year-old 13th Street resident trying to leave the store with a black BMX Mongoose Bicycle. The department store wishes to press charges.

February 11 An 8th Street couple reported to police that a family friend who is a contractor verbally threatened to kick in their door. The friend could not be contacted. The couple does not wish to prosecute at this time.

February 11 A resident on the 3500 block of Wyoga Lake Blvd. reported that a known suspect caused inconvenience, annoyance, and alarm to her by spitting on her during an exchange in the parking lot of her building. The suspect left the scene prior to the arrival of police. The resident is seeking to prosecute.

February 12 Shortly after midnight police conducted a traffic stop on Route 8 near the Howe Road exit. After determining the 20-year-old driver did not have a valid license the officer observed the 19-year-old passenger had an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and only found the beverage; The driver however, willingly gave the officers a bag containing 2.8 grams of marijuana that he had on his person. Both were cited for possession of alcohol and marijuana. The driver was cited for a lane violation and no license. The alcohol was poured out and the drugs confiscated.

February 14 Cuyahoga Falls Police were asked to conduct a welfare check of a resident in the 1800 block of Second Street. Contact was made and the resident was found to be okay, however the person had a warrant for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge and was taken into custody. While securing the residence a glass crack pipe was seen in plain view on the floor of the residence. The individual was also issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and police transferred custody to the court officer.

February 15 A traffic stop at Hudson Drive and Front Street for a fictitious license plate revealed the Marguerite Street passenger of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant from another city. Upon confirming the warrant, the passenger was searched and a small bag containing a white powdery substance was found. The individual admitted that it was fentanyl. The passenger was transported to the police department and booked on the drug charge and then turned over to the other department.

February 19 A 35-year-old Akron man was stopped for speeds far below the posted minimum speed. The driver was found to be impaired and did not have his license on his person. He submitted to blood and urine samples and charges are pending upon results.
