This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available December 30th and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
12-13 Police responded to the 3200 block of Prange Drive after an unknown caller reported a female next door was destroying her TV with a hammer. Police were able to hear from the door the female stating that she was angry and just wanted to release frustration on the TV. Police made contact with a man who also stated she was just angry and took it out on the TV. The male stated no threats of violence had been made and no threats of self-harm had been made. The female refused to step out and speak with officers. The male and female were warned for the noise.
12-13 Police responded to a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue after loss prevention reported that a female concealed $167.39 of merchandise and walked past the point of sale and out of the building. Loss prevention advised that they wished to prosecute for theft and wanted the suspect advised of trespass. Officers made contact with the suspect who was arrested, advised of criminal trespass, and given a summons.
12-13 The manager at a shoe store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reported that an unknown female bypassed all points of sale while carrying three pairs of shoes without paying. The total value of the stolen merchandise is $240. The manager also stated that the store is prepared to pursue prosecution.
12-15 The shift supervisor of a fast-food restaurant in the 1700 block of State Road stated that while she and her employees were opening the business, they found an individual in the men’s restroom stall sleeping. Officers made contact with the male, who advised he came in during business hours the day before, got tired, and went to sleep. The manager wishes to sign charges for criminal trespass and wishes for the individual to be trespassed from the premises.
12-18 During a probable cause search police discovered marijuana, to wit; the subject was found to be in possession of 157.2 grams of raw marijuana found in the vehicle he was operating during the search. The subject did also knowingly possess 11.3 grams of hashish found in the vehicle he was operating. The subject was issued two summons and released on scene.
12-18 Police responded to Lions Park where an employee reported unknown person(s) damaged the public restroom by breaking the urinal off the wall, breaking the paper roll holder, and carving graffiti into the door. The cost of damages and repairs is estimated at $1200. There are leads and suspects at this time. Prosecution desired.
12-20 An Underwood Street resident reported to police an unknown suspect used their personal identifiable information to transfer $90,263 out from their Huntington Bank account to an unknown SoFi bank account. There are no suspects or leads at this time. They do want to press charges.
12-22 A resident in the 2200 block of High Street reported to police that an unknown person(s) did steal the catalytic converter off of his 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander by an unknown means. Estimated cost of the damage is $1,000. The victim states he will prosecute.
12-23 A 32-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that an individual was caught on surveillance footage in the victim’s garage taking a Semi truck (Kenilworth T680). The witness and victim stated they followed the suspect until police arrived on scene. The suspect was located driving the semi on Rt 8 S near 2nd street to which officers then conducted a felony stop. The suspect complied and was placed in handcuffs, read his Miranda rights and refused to speak with officers. The victim was able to retrieve his vehicle back. The suspect was transported to CFPD booking and was issued charges for Theft and Breaking and entering. The suspect was transported to Summit County Jail. Officers cleared without further incident.
12-23 A 37-year-old Akron man reported to police that sometime between December 20 and December 23 his vehicle was parked in the parking lot of 4600 block of Wyoga Lake Road. He reports that an unknown person(s) broke the front passenger-side window of his vehicle and stole a coach wallet valued at approximately $250. Inside the wallet were a pair of gold earrings valued at approximately $800 and a gold necklace valued at approximately $3,500. The victim wishes to prosecute. There are no leads or suspects at this time.
12-24 Police responded to the 2500 block of Pinebrook Trail for a theft report after someone entered an unlocked Chevy Trax and took the victim’s Huntington Debit card and fled. The card was later used at Get-Go and Speedway in the amounts of $419.09 and $410.21 respectively, totalling $829.30. There are leads and prosecution is desired.
12-24 Police attempted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of State Road for a marked lane violation. During the stop the suspect exited her vehicle and was advised to get back inside the car. After this the suspect got into the vehicle and began to flee the scene. Officers began a pursuit with the suspect and were able to get the vehicle stopped in the parking lot off of Akron-Cleveland Road in Boston Heights. The suspect was apprehended and transported to the Cuyahoga Falls jail for Failure to Comply and Marked lane violation.
12-26 The owner of a convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported that a Grub Hub driver picked up an order of chicken wings, Coke and Oreos, and left without confirming the order. The store owner later confirmed with Grub Hub that the order was never confirmed, therefore the food was never delivered to the customer and the food was taken without being paid for. The total value of the goods was $18.58. The owner did wish to prosecute. The suspect was a male wearing a red and black hoodie, red pants, and reddish beanie, with black and white shoes, with a beard. A subject was briefly detained on scene, matching the description of the suspect, however, the subject was found to not be related and was released.
