This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available December 17 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

12-8  A Third Street resident reported to police that an unknown male came onto his property without his permission, urinated by the fence, then messed with the gate lock before leaving the area. The resident wishes to prosecute. There are leads/suspects.

12-9  The liquor manager at a State Road grocery store reports that an unknown male purchased alcohol using six checks back in June and July 2025. All of these checks subsequently bounced, resulting in a financial loss of $15,146.85.  The manager was unsure about prosecution at this time. There are leads and a suspect.

12-9  A 20-year-old Akron man was pulled over for a traffic offense, and officers detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. Conducting a search of the vehicle, officers located a bag of raw marijuana and blunt papers. The suspect was issued a citation for the marijuana and the drug paraphernalia. The suspect was provided a court date and time set for Stow Court.

12-9  A 53-year-old Windham man was arrested in the 1200 block of Main Street for possession of methamphetamine, a schedule II drug of abuse and three glass methamphetamine smoking pipes. The weight was established at 19.7g and 28.8g with all packaging.

12-10  Police responded to a call in the 1200 block of Main Street where the manager of a convenience store reported a known individual had worn out their welcome at her store. The individual was loitering in front of the store and at one time had an open can of beer. The individual was advised not to return to the property then left of foot.

12-10  A State Road convenience store reported to police that a known male was inside of the store stealing items and concealing them in his pockets. The male stole eight different consumable items, a total of 15 items, totaling $50.83. The store did not wish to prosecute in the matter. The known male had several warrants for his arrest through CFPD, who was asked to evaluate the male, due to his admittance of recently using drugs. CFFD transported the male to Western Reserve Hospital. The male was advised of his warrants and trespassed from the store.

12-10  A bargain store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reported that an unknown male with dreadlocks entered the store, put on clothing, and walked out without paying. The items were a Steelton coat and Steelton overall’s valued at $70 total. The store does want prosecution.

12-10  During a traffic stop on 14th Street near Taft Avenue, a search of the vehicle was conducted after a positive alert from a K9 revealed a black handbag located on the driver’s seat containing three snort straws with drug residue inside, 3 pieces of burnt tin foil used for narcotics, a cigarette pack with a pink paper fold in it that had a white powder inside. All items were tagged into property, and the white powder was sent to BCI for testing. The female was given a traffic citation and released.

12-11  A grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road reported to police that they detained a 26-year-old Akron man for concealing numerous grocery items, valued at $153.73, in his jacket and pants pockets and left the store without paying for the items. The man was issued a summons for the theft and arrested for two other warrants out of CFPD. The store retained the stolen merchandise.

12-12  A 64-year-old Akron woman was stopped for a traffic violation. During a probable cause search of the vehicle the suspect’s purse containing a plastic container with a crystal substance was located. The suspect admitted the substance was Methamphetamine. The substance weighed 0.8 grams. The suspect was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

12-14  Officers attempted to stop a driver for a moving violation, during which the driver led them on a pursuit on Route 8 traveling south, during wet conditions. The driver was eventually stopped by law enforcement and his vehicle pinned. The driver resisted arrest and was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, in his front pocket, which was never disclosed prior to the driver being placed in handcuffs. The driver later spit on police while in custody at the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. The driver was later charged with two counts of carrying concealed weapons, failure to comply, harassment by an inmate, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, reckless operation , and traffic control indications. The driver was evaluated by EMS transported to Akron City Hospital to be cleared prior to being booked into Summit County Jail.

12-13  A 23rd Street resident reported a possibly intoxicated driver backed a vehicle into her house and hit a car parked in the neighbor’s driveway. Officers made contact with the registered owner and driver. While interviewing the driver, she displayed signs of intoxication and completed field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for OVI and transported to CFPD. The driver was read a 2255 and submitted to a breath test, in which she blew a .192. The driver signed bond, received a traffic citation for OVI and reckless operation, and received a copy of the 2255. Rusnak was released to Detox. The initial caller’s house sustained damage to the gutter with unknown damage underneath. An accident report  has been completed.
