This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available April 8 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

3-19  A loss prevention associate at a grocery store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reported that a female left the store without paying for a cart full of items. The female was located nearby with the items, which contained household and consumable goods valued at a total of $364. During the search incident to arrest the suspect was also found to be in possession of a snort straw and burnt foil with residue. The suspect was issued a summons for theft and drug paraphernalia and given a court date. She was also trespassed from the store.

3-30  A Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that he allowed a known person to borrow his 2010 King American enclosed trailer for a weekend in May of 2025. The known person refused to give the trailer back stating that they still have their property in the trailer and needed it. The known person is now refusing to communicate with the victim, and he believes they are hiding the trailer from him at another location. The victim will sign charges; there is a lead and suspect. The trailer is worth $5,000. The victim has the title, and the trailer was entered into LEADS as stolen.

3-30  A 28-year-old Buckingham Gate resident reported to police that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle overnight and stole two credit cards and $200 in cash. The vehicle was parked in front of his garage. The stolen cards were then used at 7-11 and CVS in the sum of $609. The victim wishes to pursue criminal charges. The report number was provided.

3-31  A 71-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman reported to police she was called by an unknown male who told her she needed to pay $5,000. The victim was instructed to go to the bank and take out the money. The unknown male then corrected himself saying it would be $15,000 and to send it through a bitcoin machine. The victim didn’t send any money and didn’t give any personal or banking information. The unknown male did have the victim’s social security, banks she used and amount of money in those banks. The victim was told to freeze her accounts and contact the banks and credit bureaus. The case was closed due to no local leads.

4-1  An employee from a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reports an unknown male customer took her iPad from her work cart without her consent. After she noticed the iPad was missing, she eventually encountered the male with her device and confronted him. The suspect returned the iPad and ran out of the store. The employee would like to prosecute. There are leads.

4-1  During a traffic stop in the 3900 block of State Road a 28-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was found knowingly possessing drug paraphernalia while being the passenger of a vehicle during a traffic stop. Officers located a snort straw, snort spoon, and razors used to consume and process narcotics.

4-1  During a traffic stop on Front Street near Grant Avenue on a vehicle for a failure to dim headlights violation, the driver exhibited slurred speech, blood shot eyes, and an odor of alcohol emanated from his person. The driver refused to conduct sobriety testing, and was arrested for OVI. The driver later refused to submit to a requested breath sample and had a prior OVI refusal conviction in 2023. The driver was charged with OVI refusal and use of headlights. The driver was later released to a sober family member.

4-1  A shoe store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reports that an unknown person left the store past the point of sale with two boxes of Nike shoes without paying, activating the alarm. The estimated cost for the shoes is $160. The store will prosecute for theft.

4-2  Police responded to a drugstore in the 600 block of Portage Trail for a shoplifting complaint. The store manager stated the suspect placed store-owned items inside her bag in her shopping cart, totaling $56.52, and walked past the point of sale without paying. The manager stated the store did want to prosecute and the suspect was issued a summons for theft. Property was retained by the store.

4-2  During a traffic stop on Broadway East near High Street on a driver of  a dark-colored Jeep Wrangler after suspicious driving behavior and traffic violations were observed, the driver was found to exhibit several indicators of impairment, however, he stated that he was diabetic. CFFD arrived to assess the driver. Officers located an opened can of “MXD” premade margarita in his vehicle. He was released by paramedics on scene, and after further investigation, the driver was placed under arrest, charged with OVI, open container, and failure to obey a traffic control device. The driver refused to submit to chemical testing.

4-2  Loss prevention at a home improvement store in the 300 block of Howe Road reported that a suspect did return a Glacier Bay kitchen faucet that he never purchased, valued at $119. The suspect then left the store with two Behr 4.8-gallon paint cans and a Milwaukee cordless drill valued at $479. Loss prevention was able to recover the two Behr paint cans in the parking lot of the store. Total value of loss is $598. Loss prevention did sign a complaint on theft, and a warrant was issued for the suspect

4-3  Employees of Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation reported that an unknown suspect operating an unknown vehicle drove onto the baseball field at Waterworks Park and performed donuts in the infield. This activity caused significant damage, leaving deep indentations in the playing surface. They estimate that repairing the damage will require a few hundred dollars in materials, along with several hours of labor. Prosecution is desired. No suspects or leads at this time.

4-6  A 73-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman reported to police that an unknown suspect took her Google Chromebook computer that was left at the Cuyahoga Falls Library on April 4. There are no leads or suspects. The victim stated she does not want to prosecute.

4-6  A Hunters Lake resident reported to police she had a box of 6 bottles of Good Old Times Bourbon sitting on her porch to be picked up. The victim states she was home and saw an unknown male take the package from the porch but it was not the person that was supposed to pick the package up. The victim was unable to confront this unknown person. The bourbon was worth $750, and the victim will sign charges.
