This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available April 3rd and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

3-27 A Graham Road home improvement store reports that an unknown male grabbed a box containing a home security system (worth $429.99) and placed it in his bookbag. The unknown male then passed the point of sale without paying and got into the passenger side of a black, heavily tinted sedan. The vehicle then left. Video was requested from the store, and they wish to prosecute. There is a lead and will require further investigation.

3-27 The manager of a Bailey Road apartment complex reported that a person known to them did knowingly cause damage to the apartment building by punching a hole in the 2nd floor common area hallway wall. Cost of repair is estimated at $500.00. The suspect was arrested and booked at CFPD and was identified to have a warrant out of Franklin County. The person was advised and released. The manager did sign the charge for Criminal Damaging on behalf of the apartment complex. The suspect was released on a personal reconnaissance bond.

3-30 Officers stopped a 26-year-old Akron man for a speed violation on Route 8 south, near Howe Ave. The gentleman smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. He also admitted to consuming alcohol. After sobriety tests, he was arrested for OVI. The suspect later submitted a breathalyzer sample and was well over the state limit. He was charged with OVI and speed and was later released to a sober party. A known female passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop was in possession of 11 ecstasy pills. Pills were sent to BCI and the female arrested on an outstanding warrant.

3-30 After being stopped for an illegal turn and an expired plate at Tallmadge and Newberry Street, a 59-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was transported to CFPD where he provided a breath sample and was charged with OVI. The suspect was booked, processed, bonded out, and released to a sober party.

3-30 Police responded to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Prange Drive. All subjects were outside of their apartments engaged in fighting and taunting behavior, alarming several other tenants. All subjects involved in disorderly behavior were warned, released, and told they’d be charged if officers had to respond for another altercation.

3-30 The manager of a clothing boutique in the 1200 block of Main Street reported to police that 2 women entered the store, and that one suspect took an adult dancer outfit into the dressing room before walking out of the store with it in her bag, passing the point of sale without paying. The other suspect stole a piece of merchandise by concealing it under a shirt before walking out of the store. The total loss was said to be $190.00 The manager was also able to provide the police with a description of the suspects’ vehicle along with license number and the boutique is willing to prosecute.

3-30 The manager of an eyeglass store in the 2000 block of Portage Trail reported to police that an unknown suspect “shopped” around the store while concealing 25 pairs of glasses in her purse and clothing before exiting the store. The total loss in merchandise is $10,684.00. The store is willing to prosecute. There are leads.
