Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.
City council met Monday night after being away on their August recess. The first item was for a Committee of the Whole to approve the mayor’s recommendation to appoint Brad Sisak to the planning commission. Walters stated that Sisak brings a wealth of information and experience to the commission. This appointment would fill a seat left vacant and Sisak would be filling the unexpired term of former board member Sandy Locascio that expires 12-31-2029. Council voted 10-0 on the appointment.

Miscellaneous Business
A Marcia Street resident, Victor Pallucci, requested that city council take a very hard look at the city’s policy on recreational fires. He stated that it has been an ongoing problem in his neighborhood and is seeking help.
Council also voted to excuse the absence of Rachel Loza from tonight’s meeting. The motion passed 10-0.
