City Council Minutes Report: March 28, 2022

Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.

On Monday, March 28 council met to discuss new ordinances and resolutions:

A-32: An ordinance authorizing the refund of a landscape performance bond to Bath Road Associates LLC. Was assigned to the finance committee.

A-33: An ordinance amending Ordinance 40-2021 to authorize the director of public service to enter into a license agreement with AMP Transmission, LLC for the AMPT 69 kV conversion project. Assigned to the public and industrial improvements committee.

A-34: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, according to law, with GPD Associates for professional engineering services for the improvements to Cochran Road, from State Road to Cavalier Trail. Assigned to the public and industrial improvements committee.

Reports of Council Standing Committees

Finance Committee:

A-27: An ordinance authorizing the chief of police to enter into a contract for the sale or other disposal of in-car video cameras and accessories passed 10-0.

A-28: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a compensation agreement for the position of an electrical engineer. Passed 7-3 with councilpersons Gorbach, Penta and Stams dissenting.

Public and Industrial Improvements:

A-29: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract for the rehabilitation of the Broad Boulevard sanitary sewer between 5th and 7th streets passed 10-0

A-30: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract for the annual resurfacing and repair of various streets, as listed in the exhibit on March 21, and also authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract for pavement preservation of various streets within the city passed 10-0.

Community Development:

A-31: An ordinance to enter into a retroactive Community Reinvestment Area with Coming Attractions LLC passed 10-0

Council committees will meet to discuss the new legislation presented tonight on Monday April 4th. There is also a public hearing on A-23 at 6:30 pm.

A-23: An ordinance approving a Regulatory Text Amendment to Table 1131-1 Zoning Districts and Uses to add secondary schools as a limited use in R-4 Urban Density Residential and R-5 Mixed Density Residential Districts and to add a new Subsection 1133.02 (b) 3 titled “Secondary Schools.”
