This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available August 12 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
8-1 A Stone Street resident contacted police to report an unknown suspect stole his license plate off of a gray Ford F-150. After a follow-up, it was found to be taken from the Outback Steakhouse parking lot on July 22 between 4:16-4:58pm. The unknown suspect was driving a red Ford F150 with heavy window tint and a bed rack. The victim does wish to prosecute and was given the report number. There is a lead.
8-5 A Third Street resident reports her Amazon packages are being stolen by her neighbor. She stated that some of the packages are being delivered to another address on Third Street and they are not being returned to her. She received a picture confirming the delivery the previous afternoon and it showed the neighbor’s house. She stated this was not the first case, and three other packages have been taken. The total loss is around $250. Police were unable to make contact with the known male. The victim wishes to prosecute.
8-6 Police conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger for a moving violation on Main Street near Loomis Avenue. During the stop, officers observed signs of impairment exhibited by the passenger, while the driver was heavily sweating. Officers were also aware that both subjects had a history of drug use. While police were completing the traffic citation, a K-9 unit conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics. Based on the alert, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle; they located one glass methamphetamine pipe with a white residue and one metal pipe with a white residue inside the vehicle. The passenger was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Due to her level of impairment, she was transported to a hospital by CFFD for evaluation. The driver was cited for the traffic violation and was also issued a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on the scene.
8-7 A convenience store in the 600 block of Graham Road reported a theft that occurred on August 6. The suspect appeared to have stolen ten Pokemon plush toys valued at $19.99 each ($199.99). The assistant manager signed the criminal complaint. The suspect was served with the criminal complaint at the Cuyahoga Falls PD.
8-7 Police responded to a call in the Steels Corner Road area for a report of a male holding a gun at the end of the driveway looking towards the music center. Police arrived and made contact with the known male. The known male reported walking within the boundaries of his property with an air rifle at his side when he believed he saw someone urinating on his property. The male reported he had the air rifle with him in an attempt to thwart people from urinating at his property as they have done for years. The male denied ever pointing the weapon at anyone or threatening anyone. No reports of the male pointing the rifle or making threats police inspected the rifle and confirmed it to be an air rifle. Police cleared with no further incident.
8-8 Police took a report at a garage sale on Third Street where it was reported an unknown suspect stole a glass egg tray, wooden cane, glass terrarium, a bag of toys, misc. clothing items, and $50 cash from her yard sale. The victim states there were no witnesses or cameras and only wanted to document the fact someone in the area was stealing.
8-9 Police responded to the 2500 block of State Road for a disorderly situation involving two females having a loud verbal argument outside. CFPD made contact with both parties. It was reported the two both recklessly caused annoyance, inconvenience, or alarm to multiple residents during their argument causing a crowd to gather. The argument was reported to be over the usage of the laundry machine in the complex. Both were cited for Disorderly conduct and released.
