This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available July 15 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
7-2 A department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reported that a shoplifter walked past the final point of sale without paying for two comforter sets and two bath towels. The total value of merchandise was $175.02. All items were recovered by the store. The store was willing to prosecute for the theft and signed the criminal complaint. Officers were unable to contact the shoplifter regarding the theft, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
7-4 A Sutton Drive resident reports an unknown male suspect riding a dirt bike called her explicit names and then spit on her while in her front yard. The resident stated the spit hit her in the face and that she is uninjured from the incident. The resident stated that she was willing to prosecute, however, officers were unable to identify a suspect with the information provided by the victim. Due to lack of physical evidence, the severity of the crime, and no leads to the identity of the suspect, this case is being closed.
7-6 During a traffic stop on Route 8 at Howe Avenue, a driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and an open container of Don Julio. Alcohol was disposed of and the marijuana was placed in a legal location. The driver was warned for violation and advised of marijuana laws.
7-6 A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street St, reported that a 40-year-old Akron man damaged the men’s restroom by kicking and hitting the stall doors and the paper towel dispenser. The damage is estimated to cost around $600 total. The manager stated they would prosecute and for the man to be trespassed from the store. The man was arrested for criminal damaging and advised he was trespassed.
7-8 A 30-year-old Akron man was reported to be acting erratically on a walking trail. Contact was made with the man who was found to be kneeling/sitting over a plastic bag that contained cut open glue/adhesive bottles, inhaling the contents with purpose to induce intoxication or similar physiological effects. The man was visibly impaired and a squad was called. He was taken by CFFD for medical treatment from the scene. A warrant of complaint was issued at CFPD for abusing harmful intoxicants, a F-5 due to his prior convictions.
7-8 CFPD Special Operations initiated a traffic stop on a 2008 Dodge at Howe Avenue and Main Street. The driver was found to have active warrants for her arrest and a suspended driver’s license. Upon search of the vehicle, suspected cocaine was and a metal pipe used to smoke was located on her person. She was transported to Summit County Jail for her warrant. Charges will be pending BCI results
7-8 A Grove Avenue man reported that an unknown suspects) obtained and fraudulently used his Home Depot credit card information to make two purchases on June 4, 2026 totalling $2045.70. The victim has already contacted his bank and Home Depot’s fraud division. Suspects are currently unknown, but the victim wishes to pursue criminal charges. The report number was provided.
7-8 A Georgia man reported his bookbag with his laptop inside was taken from his rental vehicle. He stated that he must have left his car unlocked when he went into a Howe Avenue restaurant with his dad and when he got back in the car it was gone. He stated it is a HP Light work computer. The total loss was $1,500. Police spoke with an employee of the restaurant in regard to whether their security cameras worked, but they were unsure and police are waiting to hear back. The victim does wish prosecution. As of now there are no leads or suspects.
7-10 A resident in the 1700 block of Ohio Avenue reported to police that an unknown person(s) entered her unlocked 2017 Infiniti and stole her purse, containing her wallet, credit cards and car keys, from the front seat. The value of items stolen is estimated at $50. The purse and all its contents were recovered by a neighbor who found it on the corner while on a morning walk. The purse was returned to the victim who stated everything was accounted for. There were no damages to the vehicle and nothing else was stolen. Prosecution was declined.
7-10 An 18th Street resident reported to police an unknown person entered her unlocked 2015 Subaru Crosstrek that was parked in the driveway of her residence and took her black North face gym bag. There are no leads or suspects. The loss is estimated at $60. The victim will prosecute.
7-12 A fast food restaurant in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that a known juvenile was using grossly abusive and unwarranted language, causing an immediate breach of the peace. The juvenile refused to leave the business after being directed to do so and continued yelling profanities at staff members. The juvenile admitted to his actions during the investigation. Charges have yet to be filed against the juvenile. The juvenile was trespassed from the business and was subsequently released.
7-12 During a traffic stop on a driver, 63-year-old Kent man had a burnt marijuana joint fall from his lap while exiting the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle was an additional burnt joint under the driver’s seat and an unburnt joint on the center console. All three joints located were not within the original, unopened packaging.
The suspect was found not to be impaired and was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for improper transportation of marijuana in a motor vehicle. The driver was also given warnings for his traffic violations.
7-13 A resident in the 1800 block of Falls Avenue reported to police that an unknown individual entered his vehicle through an unlocked door without permission and stole approximately $35 in dollar bills and $3 in loose change. The victim stated that he wishes to pursue charges. There are no suspects or investigative leads at this time.
