A-15: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, according to law, for replacing non-copper water service lines.
Public & Industrial Improvements:
A-11: An ordinance authorizing the parks and recreation board to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with Site Technology inc., for repairs to the Cuyahoga Falls High school tennis courts. City Council met in executive session earlier Monday. According to council rules “the council may hold an Executive Session, from which the public is excluded;” in this case it was for “purchase, sale, or the development of real property where premature disclosure of information would give an unfair competitive or bargaining advantage to a person, or otherwise adversely affect the general public interest.”
Park Director Dr. Sara Kline made this presentation before the committee, giving a timeline of what led the parks department to arrive at this choice. Some of the elements that made this site preferable over the courts at other school parks is the ability of having six courts, a requirement for sanctioned tennis matches. The tennis courts are to be available for the general public to use outside of school hours. The site can also be double striped to be used for pickle ball in the future if desired. When asked about the construction timeline Deputy Parks Director Michael Fallis told the Falls Free Press that construction, dependent on weather, would run from June to August. The committee voted to bring this measure out for a vote before full council where it passed 10-0 later Monday evening.
A-16: An ordinance authorizing the parks and recreation board to enter into a contract, or contracts, with PlayCore Wisconsin Inc., dba Gametime, for the purchase and installation of a splashpad at Valley Vista Park. Passed 11-0.

Finance Director Bryan Hoffman passed out Report 21 and went over some of the snapshots from the report to which his office is paying attention. One of the things Hoffman pointed out is that state taxes received are up 11% from this time last year. The first share of “Adult Use Tax” is in and the city received $518k in this initial payout. Looking at the leisure time funds the Natatorium is up 4% from last year at this time and, with a warm February, Downview and the driving range were both up over last year.
