Cuyahoga Falls Police Report: July 16, 2025

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available July 16 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

7-7  A grocery store in the 2200 block of State Road reported to police that a suspect did knowingly take multiple store items without paying by pushing a cart containing alcohol past the point of sale, valued at $142.97. The store does wish to prosecute and signed charges at CFPD. The suspect was taken to CFPD Jail and booked for a charge of theft, and two active CFPD warrants. The suspect was placed in a jail cell for lack of bond.

7-8  A Sackett Avenue resident reported to police that he mistakenly put his card information into a service pump at a local gas station and then drove off without pumping any gas. The victim  was then alerted that someone used the same pump with his card information for $72.93. There are no leads or suspects. The victim doesn’t want charges and was already refunded the money from his bank.

7-9  During a traffic stop on Howe Road for an equipment violation police identified both the driver and passenger and discovered the passenger to have an active warrant out of Jackson PD. The passenger also admitted to officers that he had a concealed 9mm Taurus G3 in his waistband. The passenger was found to not be a qualified adult due to having a misdemeanor conviction of aggravated menacing within the preceding three years on his CCH. He was arrested for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and released on a signature bond. He was then transferred over to Jackson PD on his warrant.

7-8  A landlord in the 400 block of Grove Ave placed a 24-hour inspection on the address. When he arrived on scene the tenant was not there. Shortly after he knocked both the tenant and her father showed up and a verbal conflict ensued. The father proceeded to push the landlord down the driveway and choked him, leaving marks on his neck. The landlord did press charges, and the father was arrested for assault. A victims’ rights packet was completed, and the father was booked into jail.  Also, video footage from witnesses showed the tenant screaming and hollering while the incident happened. The tenant was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

7-9  Police conducted a traffic stop on a 23-year-old Stow man for marked lanes. He was found to be OVI with a BAC of .279. He was cited and given a court date.

7-9  Police responded to a convenience store in the 2700 block of Front Street where they issued a citation for disorderly conduct. According to the clerk the suspect was loud and irate with a cashier and asked him to go outside so that they could beat him up. The suspect was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and given a court date.

7-9  Police responded to a restaurant in the 1000 block of Graham Road where an employee reported she left her purse with her wallet in it on the front passenger side floor of her vehicle when she went to work. The victim went into work around 1600 hours. She came back to her car between 2000 hours and 2100 hours. The victim noticed her wallet and lighter were missing from her purse. She was also missing a bottle of antifreeze. The wallet contained her social security card, three debit cards, and her insurance card. The victim is unsure if her vehicle was locked, but there was no forced entry. She will prosecute. There are leads but no suspects.

7-9  Police responded to the 700 block of Loomis Avenue where a resident reported that on July 7 an unknown person(s) did enter his unlocked 2013 Hyundai and take a bottle of cologne, a pair of glasses, and a 45 caliber Tisas 1911 that was sitting in the driver side door. The value of the firearm is estimated to be around $500, and the victim will prosecute. There are no leads at this time.

7-10  A Princeton Place resident reported to police that an unknown individual hacked into her LG TV in her living room and displayed a creepy message on her TV screen. The victim unplugged her TV and video surveillance for officers to investigate. The victim does not know of any suspects and does wish to prosecute if a suspect is found.

7-10  A discount store in the 700 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that four unknown females walked into the store and put 3 comforters ($79.88) and one sheet set ($14.99) in carts. The unknown females loaded up their shopping carts with other unknown items and walked out of the store without paying. The store manager said there is video footage and would burn a copy and bring it down at a later time. The store wishes for prosecution. There are leads but no suspects at this time.

7-11  A 44-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman came to the police station and reported a false insurance claim had been made against her regarding an accident she was not involved in. The victim received a notification from her insurance that a claim had been received, providing her with the information of who filed the claim. The victim is willing to prosecute. After further research officers discovered a hit skip report in which the suspect claimed the victim sideswiped her vehicle. According to the other report, no accident report was generated as the suspect’s statements were inconsistent and changed multiple times. Officers also noted the damage to the suspect’s vehicle was more consistent with hitting a stationary object like a tree or pole, and there was wood debris in the area. Based on the previous report and that the victim claimed lack of involvement in the accident, it is suspected the claim made to the insurance is false.

7-12  A phone call led police to a restaurant in the 400 block of Howe Avenue where a male was passed out under a tree. The male displayed signs of intoxication; he was unsteady on his feet and stumbled while walking towards the cruiser. The man admitted to drinking and was cited for disorderly conduct while intoxicated (MM) and transported to Akron City Hospital for detox.

7-12  Police responded to Water Works Park where it was reported by management that a patron was heavily intoxicated while at the water park. Witnesses reported the suspect threw up in the sitting/lounge area and was falling over in the women’s restroom. Officers discovered the suspect consumed a large amount of tequila while at the water park. CFFD arrived and medically cleared the suspect. The suspect was released to a friend who was able to care for her after being escorted out of Water Works. The suspect was cited with disorderly conduct/intox and trespassed from Water Works.

7-12  Police were called to a grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue where loss prevention reported a known male who was on the park bench near the entrance to the store passed out with multiple small bottles of alcohol on the ground around him. Police made contact and identified the male. CFFD arrived and transported him to the hospital for alcohol related symptoms. Loss prevention declined prosecution for stealing a container of fried chicken and a 10-pack of Fireball shooters. No other party reported any disorderly conduct from the male; therefore, he was warned for disorderly conduct and advised of trespassing.
