This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available May 14 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

5-6  The manager of a Bailey Road convenience store reported that an unknown juvenile white male came into the store, walked to the rear and took a bottle of Fireball, placed it in his pocket and left the store. The total loss was $18.14 and the store does not wish to prosecute. The male is described as a 5’6″ white male, weighing around 110 lbs, with brown hair wearing a dark shirt and pants.

5-7  A resident in the 2200 block of High Street contacted CFPD in regard to a loud, ongoing alarm coming from the apartment above his. Officers located the apartment where a noisy alarm was easily heard from the hallway and surrounding area. Contact was made with the resident who was advised his alarm is causing annoyance to his neighbors. The resident was warned for disorderly conduct.

5-8  Police made a traffic stop at Portage Trail and 11th Street. During conversation with the driver he falsely identified himself and provided a false date of birth and SSN to multiple officers present. The driver was warned and provided ample opportunity to cooperate before being arrested for Obstructing Official Business M-2, which is when a AAA card with his name was located in his wallet. Once identified, it was learned that the driver has several felony warrants through the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. The passenger who was also the vehicle owner was interviewed while officers were attempting to identify the driver. The passenger stated she just met the driver and only knew his first name. After a consent search of the vehicle, the driver’s ID card was located in the passenger’s purse. After being mirandized, the passenger admitted that she “has been with the driver for 6 months” and that the driver stated “I’m going to jail” while they were being pulled over. The driver was transferred into the custody of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for his warrants and with his charge of Obstructing Official Business and a traffic citation. The passenger was charged with Obstructing Justice and Wrongful Entrustment and released from CFPD on a personal bond.

5-8  The manager of a convenience store in the 300 block of Tallmadge Road reported an unknown male entered the store and stole three cases of Bud Light and left the store without paying. The total value of items stolen is $71.97.

5-8  An employee of a convenience store in the 3900 block of State Road reports a known white male wearing a gray hat, black shirt and blue jeans was seen on camera stealing a CAF outdoor sprayer. The sprayer was located outside the main doors of the store and the male grabbed the sprayer and walked out of camera view. Total amount stolen was $80. Contact was made with the suspect and the sprayer was returned to the store. Prosecution has been declined.

5-9  A resident in the 2300 block of 16th Street reported to police that sometime overnight an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle parked on the street. He reports that they stole his vehicle registration, title, and insurance cards. The man does not wish to prosecute, he just wanted the incident documented.

5-9  Police responded to a loud noise complaint at Waterworks park. When they arrived they observed a large gathering at a pavilion and loud music coming from the same area. Police contacted the individual that reserved the pavilion for the party and advised to turn down the music and that the park closed at dark. The suspect stated that they would turn down the music and begin to wrap up the party. The suspect was issued a warning for DOC loud music. Cleared without further incident.

5-10  Police made a traffic stop on Route 8 at Graham Road, during which the passenger was observed holding an open container of Twisted Tea. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered multiple open containers of alcohol, including a bottle of Fireball, a plastic cup containing beer, and a thermos containing an unidentified alcoholic substance. Further inspection of the passenger’s personal bag revealed a glass meth bong with a crystal-like substance inside, as well as an unknown blue liquid at the bottom. The passenger was cited and released at the scene. Potential charges are pending BCI results.

5-11  Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle and discovered the driver with a 12-point suspension. After asking for a ride back to her home the driver grabbed her purse from her vehicle. The driver then faced away, took an open container of beer out, and tossed it away into the grass. The driver was given a citation for littering and a warning for open container and given a courtesy transport home.

5-11 During a traffic stop on Route 8 South near Howe Avenue, officers observed indicators of impairment and saw an open container of Espolon Reposado tequila underneath the passenger seat. The driver told officers that he was in possession of a loaded Sig Sauer P320. The driver was placed through field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested concluding the test. The driver provided officers with a breath sample that determined his BAC to be .087. The driver was processed at the Cuyahoga Falls Jail and released on a PR bond to a sober party. The vehicle was towed to B&B towing.

5-12 A property owner in the 4000 block of State Road states he entered into a contract with a new tenant in July 2024 for the business at this location. In the agreement it stated that all the appliances, furniture, and interior items of the restaurant were property of the landlord and shall not be removed or replaced without the landlord’s permission. The property owner has found that there has been $75,000 worth of TVs, tables, chairs, booths, patio furniture, coolers, drink stations, grills, fryers, ice machines, china, and utensils taken from the restaurant. The known suspect knows that the property owner had regained possession of the restaurant due to nonpayment of the rent. The property owner believes the known suspect either sold the items or is using the items in another business. The property owner is unsure if he is pursuing criminal or civil charges.

5-13  Management from a fast-food restaurant in the 200 block of Howe Avenue reports she fielded a call from an unknown male stating he had a bomb and he was currently in her parking lot. Cuyahoga Falls police officers and fire-medics combed the area and found nothing suspicious or out of place. There is a lead and prosecution is desired.

5-13  Police responded to an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Hunters Lake Drive where a resident reported he was in possession of an abandoned dog. He provided contact information for the witness who observed seeing an unknown male tie a small brown and white dog to the fence in the Hunters Lake Drive dog park and drive away at a high rate of speed. The caller retained possession and volunteered to keep the dog as his own because he was a good doggie. The witness provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle.
