Cuyahoga Falls Police Report: November 20, 2024

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available November 20 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

11-08  The manager of a grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road reported to police two unknown males used the coin counting machine located inside the store. The persons put around $0.60 into the machine, grabbed the receipt and left the store. The manager stated that around 30 minutes later both unknown males returned to the store with a forged receipt for $646.44 that appeared to be from the coin counting machine. They then took it to the cashier and left the store with the amount of cash stated on the forged receipt. The manager stated that the store would prosecute.

11-08  The manager of a grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that the same suspects from the thefts using the coin counter at the State Road store to scam this location. The manager reported that the unknown males put around $0.60 into the machine, grabbed the receipt and left the store. They stated that around 30 minutes later both unknown males returned to the store with a forged receipt for $646.44 that appeared to be from the coin counting machine. They then took it to the cashier and left the store with the amount of cash stated on the forged receipt. The manager stated that the store would prosecute in both cases.

11-13  During a traffic stop for window tint the driver of the car was found to be actively smoking marijuana while operating his vehicle. He was issued a MM citation for marijuana usage. The man was ordered to appear at Stow Municipal Court.

11-14  The manager of a convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street requested police when an unknown male came into the business asking for money from customers. She states he was asked to leave and refused. After the manager contacted the police, the man left. The manager stated that she wanted the male trespassed, but he was unable to be located. Prosecution declined.

11-15  Police were requested to the 1400 block of Myrtle Avenue for a complaint of a vehicle parked in a front yard. Officers were able to make contact with the owner of the vehicle. The owner was advised of the city ordinance and asked to move the vehicle. Nothing further at this time.

11-15  A crash investigation turned into an arrest for impaired driving after a traffic crash. A Cuyahoga Falls woman was found to be impaired and had struck a fence in the 2000 block of Oakwood. The woman was transported to the station and found to have a BAC of .197. The suspect was released from the station with a court date to a sober party.

11-15  The employee of a head shop in the 2000 block of State Road, reported that a male and female came into his store and asked to see a THC vape. The male took it without paying and fled on foot. The female walked away but was not seen again. The employee stated the loss was $42 and prosecution is desired.

11-16  A loss prevention employee with a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reports to police that three females walked past the point of sale with stolen merchandise. He stated he stopped the females and they walked back into the store and gave all the merchandise back. The employee explained to them that he needed to call the police to charge and trespass them. Upon doing so, all the females ran from the business. Officers were unable to locate the suspects. The females stole $601.69 worth of merchandise. The store does wish to prosecute. There are no leads to who the suspects are.
