This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available February 19 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
2-7 The manager of a fast-food restaurant in the 200 block of Howe Avenue contacted police to report 200 young adults were inside of the store, fighting and causing a disturbance. On arrival police observed several individuals running and yelling inside and outside of the restaurant. The manager and police requested that everyone leave. Everyone complied and went to their vehicles parked in a nearby parking lot. At 2220 hours, the manager reported that the individuals had come back into the restaurant, and there was a report of a male with a gun. The person was described as a black male with a yellow hoodie decorated with multicolored shapes. The male had dreads with brown-dyed tips. It was reported that on arrival the male had left the building in an unknown direction. All individuals were asked to leave the building again, and the dining room was locked for the night. The manager does wish to prosecute against the individuals who started the fight and wishes for them to be trespassed.
2-8 A Cuyahoga Falls woman reports that she has been having issues with her mail carrier. The woman stated she has called to file formal complaints four times. On February 6, the victim stated she observed approximately 46 bags shoved into her mailbox with a change of address form. Today the victim opened her mailbox to find the same kind of trash plus a bag with a single piece of excrement. The woman would like to prosecute at this time.
2-11 A Bedford Heights man reports he received a call from a Cuyahoga Falls bank about an unknown black male attempting to withdraw money from his bank account. The bank advised that the male was using a fake driver’s license that contained the man’s information and that he fled from the bank when the bank teller said they were going to get a manager. There are leads and the victim is willing to prosecute.
2-11 A Beacon Hill Circle woman reported to police someone entered her vehicle without permission, stole three credit cards and used them at department stores in Stow and Kent. There are leads but no known suspects. The victim will prosecute. The loss at the time of reporting was $1,430.08.
2-11 A discount store in the 2900 block of State Road reported to police that they had a suspect detained for shoplifting. The suspect allegedly switched tags on baby clothes, candy and a USB device then attempted to leave the store after paying for the discounted prices $19.00 in savings. They were issued a summons to Stow Municipal Court, and trespassed from all chain locations of the store, and the property was returned to the retailer.
2-12 Loss prevention from a Bailey Road grocery store reported to police that they had observed a person known to them walk past all points of sale with a full cart of groceries. The suspect was stopped in the parking lot area and loss prevention was able to recover all the merchandise. The suspect had previously been warned for trespass at this location, was issued a summons for theft and trespass, and turned over to Summit County Sheriff’s Office for an active warrant. Total Lost and Recovered $694.83.
