This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available September 17 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

9-5  A resident in the 4200 block of Americana Drive contacted police after noticing that someone got into his vehicle without permission and took $15 in change. The victim stated typically when he walks away from his car it automatically locks, but has sometimes failed to do so. The victim reported that the change was in the driver-side door and in a cup in his center console out of view. The victim stated at this time nothing else appears to be missing or damaged. It does appear that the apartment complex has cameras in the parking lot, but the office was closed at this time. The victim does wish to prosecute.

9-7  Officers responded to a theft report in the police department lobby. The caller reported that her purse was stolen at a State Road thrift store by an unknown suspect near the fitting rooms while she was trying on clothes. The victim reports that the purse contained $80 cash, her ID, debit card, and insurance card. The victim is unsure about prosecution.

9-8  A bartender in the 1900 block of State Road reported that a patron fell down while intoxicated in the bar and struck his head on the ground or a table. Cuyahoga Falls EMS was dispatched to check the patron who became combative and belligerent with EMS and police in the view of the public. The patron was transported to Akron General Hospital due to a viable head injury and being extremely intoxicated. The patron was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct by intoxication.

9-9  A 38-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that while at his place of work around 12:19am he was approached by a coworker stating his 2003 Ford F350 was not in the lot. The victim states he parked his truck in the lot in the 300 block of Remington Road, unlocked, around 10:30pm. The truck was taken by an unknown subject around 11:00pm. The victim has the only key to the truck, and it is paid off. Total value of the truck is $6,500 with miscellaneous tools in the bed and cab. The victim will prosecute if found. Victims’ rights packet was completed and will be entered into LEAD’s.

9-9  A furniture store in the 700 block of Howe Avenue reported that three unknown juvenile males came into the store and started to wrestle on the display beds. When the employee asked the males to leave, they started to use vulgar language towards her. The employee just wanted a report per the request from her manager. No one was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

9-10  Police were called to a veterinarian’s office in the 300 block of Howe Avenue where an employee reported that the male suspect brought his dog into the pet hospital to get his dog treatment for a spider bite. The employee explained to this officer that they were unable to treat this animal due to the extent of the infection and suggested that the male suspect take his animal to the emergency vet. The male suspect then became upset and began yelling and cussing at staff. The employee stated that the male suspect did not threaten her but that there were several patients in the waiting room. Officers were able to make contact with the male suspect on Howe Avenue and Main Street. Upon speaking to the male suspect, he stated that the pet hospital refused to treat his dog and that he became upset. The suspect stated that he left the business and went into the parking lot and continued yelling at himself and subsequently punched his personal vehicle. The suspect was given a warning for Disorderly Conduct and left without further incident.

9-10  A Hardman Drive resident reported that she believes her 2012 Kia Soul was stolen from her residence sometime between 3:20pm and 8:00am. The victim states that no one recently had permission to use the vehicle and was current on her payments. The victim stated she checked with B&B and her finance company and both parties report they did not tow or repossess the vehicle. Officers checked with B&B and checked Flock cameras to confirm. The victim will prosecute. There are leads at this time but no suspects. The vehicle was entered into LEADs.

9-10  A 61-year-old Tallmadge man reported to police that someone stolen his bicycle from the convenience store located in the 2000 block Second Street. The victim described that this theft occurred at approximately 5:30pm and the bike is a blue Journey Mountain Bike with a storage rack on the back. The victim stated that he parked this bike on the backside of the dumpster area at the business. The bike’s cost was estimated to be $100. The victim did wish to prosecute at this time. There are no leads or suspects at this time.

9-13  During a traffic stop at Howe Avenue and Main Street police discovered that the driver did knowingly possess an open container of liquor. An open bottle of Don Julio tequila was found behind the front passenger seat. There were no signs of intoxication found, and the female admitted to ownership of the bottle from a party the previous weekend. A verbal warning was issued, and the liquor was destroyed on-scene by the female.

9-14  During a traffic stop on Front Street at Oak Park Boulevard on a red Toyota the driver showed signs of impairment. The driver consented to performing field sobriety tests and performed poorly. The driver was arrested for OVI, read his Miranda warning, and transported to the station for booking. A substance was discovered in the vehicle which the driver identified as LSD. The driver provided a breath sample of .077 BAC and a urine sample. He was also charged with driving under the influence and other charges, and then released and transported to Detox. Further charges are pending on urine results.

9-15  Police made a traffic stop on Route 8 South near Second Street. During a consent search of the driver’s person, police located a small Ziplock bag with a crystal residue inside. A search of the vehicle yielded a meth pipe and a total of 3.5 grams of meth belonging to the driver who was booked and released on a PR bond. The meth was sent to BCI for further testing
