This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available October 15  and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

10-8  During a traffic stop at Route 8 North and Broad Boulevard, the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet was found to be in possession of a Muha Meds disposable 2000mg marijuana vape pen while being under the age of 21. The vape was seized and tagged for destruction. No charges at this time.

10-9  A 46-year-old Akron woman reported to police that at the corner of Bailey Road and Hanover Street an unknown person or persons threw an object from their vehicle and it struck her 2014 Buick, causing damage to the windshield. The victim  believes the suspect vehicle was a black truck. She did not get a plate or description of the driver. There are no leads or suspects at this time. The victim declined prosecution. A Flock search could not locate the victim’s vehicle or a suspect vehicle in that area during that time frame. The estimated cost of damage to replace the windshield is $1200. Cleared without further incident.

10-9  A 26-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was found to be in possession of cut plastic straws with white residue inside. The man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

10-9  Officers respond to Norwood Avenue in regard to a noise complaint at 11:30pm. Upon arrival, officers observed loud music and made contact with a female. The female who lives at the residence stated that she and some friends were just playing music and hanging out by a fire. Officers advised the female to turn down the music and that if they continue playing loud music further action will be taken.

10-10  A 83-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that he received several messages from a known phone number stating that his Coinbase account was accessed in two different countries. The victim stated he called the number from the text and provided unknown people unknown information about his account. On Monday, October 6, the victim noticed that his one Ethereum investment, valued at over $4,000, was gone from his Coinbase account. The victim has since been in contact with the real Coinbase support. There are no leads, and the victim is willing to prosecute.

10-10  On Jefferson Avenue near 19th Street police responded to a report of a loose black labrador with a red collar. Police found the dog and identified the owner. The dog was returned and she was cited for animals running at large.

10-10  A home improvement store in the 300 block of Howe Avenue wanted to report a theft of a 35′ boom lift. A known female rented a 35′ JLG boom lift from the store on September 16 and was supposed to return the item on September 17 but the item was never returned. The store delivered a letter of demand to the renter with delivery proof. As of October 9, the store asset protection has been unable to locate the equipment or make contact with the renter. Estimated cost of equipment is $31,800.94. Asset protection does wish to prosecute. The stolen property was entered into LEADs.

10-10  The operation manager at a fast-food restaurant on Howe Avenue reports that an unknown male in his late 30s to 40s went through the drive-thru and tried to pay a $10.29 bill using a fake $20 bill. The manager stated that she did report the incident to corporate and wanted to make a report but did not want to prosecute.

10-10  Police responded to the area of Northampton Roax for a complaint of unlicensed/inoperable vehicles on the property. Police made contact with the resident and viewed several vehicles on the property, all which appeared to be in decent condition with the exception of one— a 2009 Crown Victoria. The owner indicated that all vehicles on the property were registered and in working order except for the Crown Victoria, which was not registered, and has been expired since November 11, 2022. The homeowner stated that his property is registered through Summit County as “agricultural land” due to his apple and pear trees which makes his vehicles on private property exempt from requiring registration. He had no paperwork to support this claim and was still warned for the registration violations. The male was advised that the complaint will be followed up with in the future, and to get the unlicensed or abandoned vehicles in order.

10-13  Police were summoned to the 1200 block of Main Street where a convenience store manager reported there was a male subject at the location placing merchandise inside of his pockets and book bag. The male suspect was described as wearing a black hat with a black book bag. Officers located the suspect in the parking lot of a nearby store where he was then detained. After further investigation it was found that the suspect  stole $42 in miscellaneous items. It was also found that the suspect littered on the property of the business by ripping up packaging from the stolen goods. The business did wish to prosecute in regard to this incident. The suspect was charged with Theft, Littering, and released on scene.

10-13  Officers conducted a traffic stop on Phelps Avenue near 14th Street. The driver and registered owner of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle. Officers found an open container of Fireball Whisky shooter inside of an Arby’s cup on the rear passenger’s seat floorboard. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and determined the driver was under the influence. The driver was arrested for OVI, OVI with refusal in the past 20 years, and possession of an open container of intoxicating liquor in a motor vehicle. The driver was booked and released on bond.

10-13  Officers responded to the 700 block of Roosevelt Avenue in regard to a suspicious person pulling on car door handles and looking inside. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect who stated he was just looking at his reflection in the windows. Officers investigated further by looking around the surrounding houses and vehicles and found that the suspect had entered a vehicle through the driver’s side door that was left unlocked. Contact with the owner of the vehicle was made. The owner stated that nothing was missing but that it had been gone through and stated that she did want to prosecute.

10-13  On State Route 8 near Howe Avenue officers investigated a traffic stop on a 2002 Jeep and identified the driver. Officers detected an odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and officers recovered a marijuana blunt from the driver’s bag. The driver  is under the lawful age to possess marijuana. The driver was released on scene with a summons.

Tagged
