This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available November 19 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
11-13 Police responded to a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue where lost prevention reports that an unknown male put $464.92 worth of stolen merchandise in his backpack and ran out of the store. The backpack with the stolen merchandise was recovered behind a restaurant on the same street.
11-13 A resident in the 1700 block of 24th Street reported to police that an unknown person gained access to his unsecured vehicle in the nighttime hours and took his ASUS laptop, Logitech mouse and a green notebook that contained sensitive tax information. There are no leads or suspects at this time, the victim does wish to prosecute.
11-13 A Prange Drive resident reported to police she was scammed out of her Instacart account by deception from an unknown person. When the victim closed her account, an unknown male called her phone multiple times and told her “you’re not safe, neither are your kids” after stating her full name and address. The victim does wish to prosecute.
11-13 An employee at a State Road convenience store requested officers for an unwanted subject in the store. Employees have recently reported that an identified male had been entering the store every morning and talking to the employees about his gun that he supposedly carries on his person. Officers were able to make contact with the male and he was advised to not return to the property and warned for criminal trespass. The male was not in possession of a firearm and left the property without incident. The male was added to the store’s trespass list through dispatch.
11-13 An employee at a shoe store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that two juvenile males entered the store, placed a pair of crocs into a backpack and left the store without purchase or consent. The store does not wish to pursue charges.
11-16 A manager of a steakhouse in the 200 block of Howe Avenue reported that a couple came into the business intoxicated. They were screaming at staff and left the business before PD arrived. The pair were located at a burger restaurant where they admitted to being intoxicated. The manager of the second restaurant reported that the two were causing issues in the store. Police responded due to the couple’s intoxication. The two were cleared by Falls Fire and CFPD transported the couple to detox where they were advised that they would not take the female due to her being banned from the facility and the male stated that he was not going to cooperate with the staff at Detox. Detox then advised that they both needed to be transported to a hospital. Both subjects consented to going to Akron City Hospital. The pair had verbal trespass warnings for both restaurants, were both cited for DOC intox and released to City hospital.
11-14 A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported to police that a male suspect inside the store was concealing items inside of his pockets. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect who subsequently emptied his pockets, to which there was a candy bar and other miscellaneous items. Due to the suspect not taking these items past the last point of sale, the manager advised that she did not wish to prosecute for theft. It was found that the suspect was previously trespassed from this business on October 13, 2025 by officers. As a result, the suspect was issued a summons for Criminal Trespass.
11-16 Police observed a vehicle with expired plates weaving in its lane and stop after the stop light at Portage/Northampton. Police initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as the registered owner. He submitted to field sobriety tests and was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver completed a breath test with a result of .263. He was booked and given a copy of his bond, then released to his sober friend.
11-16 A resident reported seeing a male with a tattooed face laying down in a parking lot and stumbling. This caused concern to her. CFPD located this male, who was stumbling along a sidewalk and eventually fell down. Officers approached and saw this person had extremely large pupils, bloodshot eyes and appeared to not be sure of what he was seeing. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and cited with disorderly conduct .
11-17 Police responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of Front Street and Oakwood. After questioning the driver of the at-fault car it was determined the driver showed signs of impairment and admitted they were drunk. The driver was arrested for OVI and taken to CFPD for booking. The driver refused to submit a breath test. The driver was booked, released on a PR bond, and taken to detox.
11-17 A 20th Street resident called in a single vehicle accident that occurred at Chestnut Boulevard and 9th Street. The resident admitted to dispatch to falling asleep at the wheel. The resident was operating a 2019 Nissan Altima and admitted to officers that he had been drinking that night and had just left the bar. Field sobriety tests were performed, and the driver was subsequently arrested for OVI. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and was cited for OVI and Failure to Control and released on a PR bond to a sober third party.
