This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available November 13 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

11-3  A resident in the 1200 block of Bailey Road reported the theft of a Yardman leaf vacuum (valued at $700) and damaged a Weber grill (valued at $400) that was on his property. The victim stated that the equipment was last seen on Friday, November 1. There are currently no leads, and the resident wishes to prosecute.

11-5  A resident in the 1500 block of 12th street reported to police that the catalytic converter was stolen off his truck last evening while the vehicle was parked in his driveway. The converter is valued at approximately $200. The resident wishes to pursue criminal charges, and the report number was provided.

11-5  Police intervened on an altercation that occurred between a known female and her adult granddaughter that occurred while driving in the grandmother’s car. Both parties accused the other of slapping and choking the other during the altercation, however neither had any visible injury. Due to lack of independent witnesses, conflicting statements and no corroborating evidence, no charges were filed. Domestic violence victim’s rights packets were completed.

11-5  Police were called to the 600 block of Portage Trail for the report of shoplifting of beauty products and a key chain by a woman concealing the items in her backpack and on her person, walking past the point of sale before being stopped. The value of the items stolen is $39.14. The store did recover all the items. The manager signed a theft charge on behalf of the store and the suspect was released with a summons at the scene.

11-5  An election worker asked for police at a polling location in the 3200 block of Bailey Road due to an unruly known male, who was on the ballot for election, came into the voting polls causing a disturbance. The worker stated that the known male wanted to see the voter list and while doing so, yelled and made a scene. The worker also stated the male walked through the voters, despite not being allowed to be within 100 feet of them if he is on the ballot. Another election worker also witnessed the male’s actions and stated he was yelling at other workers. At the time of the report police were unable to contact the known male who had already left the area. No charges have been filed.

11-6  The manager of a convenience store in the 2100 block of State Road reported to police two unknown males came into her store, drank two Icee’s and departed without paying. There is one lead and prosecution is desired. The loss was stated to be $2.98.

11-7  Police responded to a discount store in the 1700 block of State Road after unknown males stole miscellaneous clothing and other merchandise by concealing items in clothing in a plastic bin and leaving the store without paying. The total value of stolen items is estimated at $120. Prosecution is desired.

11-7  Police were summoned to the 600 block of Sackett Avenue to take a theft report that an unknown individual stole a bottle of Areej Le Dore cologne from the residence between September 5 and November 5. The victim reports the cologne was valued at $200. There are no suspects, and there were no allegations or reports of forced entry to the residence. The victim does wish to prosecute.

11-8  Police made a routine traffic stop at Home Avenue and the Akron city limits. During the stop police observed the odor of burnt marijuana and alcohol coming from the vehicle. Police also observed an open container of alcoholin the center console. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located the open container with possible wine in the cup and marijuana with a weight of 50 grams on 2 bags. Officers also located empty sandwich bags and a digital scale. The known male driver had no sign of impairment or odors coming from his persons. He was advised of the new marijuana laws and warned for his violations. The known female passenger was warned for the open container.

11-8  Police made a traffic stop on Route 8 south and after identifying the driver, the person was removed from the vehicle for a weapons frisk. During that time he stated that he had drugs in his hand. The suspect was found with 2g of methamphetamine. The suspect also admitted he had two firearms in the vehicle. After conducting search, officers recovered a loaded pistol in the passenger seat and a 22-caliber rifle unloaded in the trunk. Officers also discovered over 200 pills the driver didn’t have a prescription for. As the investigation proceeded it was discovered the suspect has a prior conviction for a felony drug possession case, making him under disability to possess the firearm. A meth pipe was located in the glove box as well. The man was arrested and processed at Cuyahoga Falls Jail. He was then transferred to the Summit County Jail. The vehicle was towed to B&B towing. 

11-8  While investigating a related call, a female driver was found slumped at the wheel of her vehicle on 4th Street at Broad Boulevard. The woman was able to be woken up and during the investigation, she admitted to recent drug use and was found to have indicators of impairment. SFST’s and additional ARIDE tests were conducted, and the woman was found to be driving while under the influence of narcotics. She was placed under arrest and transported to CFPD, where she submitted to a urine test. She was booked and released into the care of her husband. The suspect was given a court date at Stow Municipal Court.

11-11  Police were requested to a grocery store in the 2200 block of State Road by store security after they observed that a male left the store with a cart full of groceries and did not pay. The total for the items was $162.22. Store security had a verbal and physical altercation with the suspect. The suspect threatened serious physical harm to the employee after the altercation in front of witnesses. Store employees informed officers that the suspect was previously trespassed from the store. The suspect was arrested and taken back to the station to be booked. While at the station the suspect complained of chest pains while in booking and CPD transported him to Summa Akron City Hospital. The suspect was emergency released and given a court date.
