This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available March 4 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

2-23  Police made a traffic stop on Route 8 North near Howe Avenue on a 2020 Hyundai due to the driver not having a valid driver’s license. Officers observed an open container of alcohol in the passenger door, and during a search of the vehicle, located a digital scale with crystal residue and a glass pipe with burnt white residue in the purse belonging to the driver who was given a summons and the vehicle was towed.

2-24  An electronics store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reported to police an unknown suspect entered the store and took a Breville coffee maker, totaling $1999.55, and exited the store without paying. The manager stated the store does want to prosecute.

2-25  A grocery store in the 2200 block of State Road reported to police that a male left the store after putting items in a bag and down his pants, leaving without paying. Police found the suspect with the items at the bus stop in front of the store. He was arrested for M1 theft. The store manager signed charges for the suspect. The suspect was given a summons. The suspect also had an active warrant through Summit County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Station 300 where he was picked up by a Summit County deputy.

2-26  Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2009 Cadillac and identified the driver. Over the course of the investigation, the driver granted officers consent to search his person and officers located 1g of cocaine. The cocaine was in two separate plastic bags and found in his pants pocket. The substance was field-tested and yielded a positive result for cocaine. The driver was transported to the Cuyahoga Falls Jail and later released on a PR bond. The vehicle was towed to B&B Towing.

2-26  A passerby reported a loose dog running on Silver Lake Avenue. Police located the brown lab with an orange collar, which was skittish on approach and ran into the ajar front door of a nearby home. It appeared as though the family had left for the morning and didn’t shut the door completely. Police contacted the listed resident, a known suspect, and confirmed that the dog lived there and that they were the owner. Police also shut the ajar front door. The resident was warned for dogs running at large and there was no further action.

2-27  A resident at a Winter Parkway property reported an abandoned Ford Ranger in their building’s parking lot. The Ford had not moved beyond 48 hours, had expired plates, was hiked up on a jack, and had no steering or brakes. The Ford’s owner was unable to be contacted and the vehicle was towed.

2-27 A resident of a Winter Parkway property reported there were two abandoned vehicles in their building’s parking lot, both belonging to the same owner who has since passed away. The vehicles reportedly have not been moved in over a year, and the attorney of his estate has not moved them as he has promised management. Both vehicles were towed by B&B.

3-1  The manager at a membership store in the 1100 block of Buchholzer Boulevard reports that a known male suspect entered the store and attempted to steal a HP laptop valued at $1,099. The known male suspect used wire cutters to cut the security wire. The known male suspect completed two thefts in the same manner for two consecutive days. The manager stated that he is willing to prosecute for the attempted theft. Officers were unable to locate the known male on scene and unable to contact him over the phone. A warrant on complaint was issued.

3-3  A 23-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was found to be intoxicated in the 400 block of Jackson Avenue, where he was attempting to open the door of a residence that did not belong to him. In doing so, the man caused alarm to the residents. The man was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and left in the care of a friend.
