This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available June 12 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

5-29  The loss prevention agent at a home improvement store in the 300 block of Howe Avenue summoned police to report that a suspect known to the agent had concealed $423.56 worth of merchandise in two backpacks and passed the point of sale but was then then confronted by the agent who recovered $304.56 worth of merchandise. The suspect then fled the area, still in possession of a Milwaukee Drill & Impact Kit, valued at $119.00. Police were unable to locate the suspect in the area. A warrant was issued. 

6-3  The loss prevention agent at a grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue requested police for a theft. The store’s loss prevention employee reported that a suspect came in, stole four packs of meat by putting them in her purse, and when she confronted outside the store the suspect drove away. The store employee said while reviewing the security footage it showed the suspect also taking a pack of peppers and a case of pop. Store employes stated they took a picture of the suspect’s vehicle plate and provided officers the plate number. The loss prevention agent was also able to positively identify the suspect out of a photo lineup. A warrant was issued for the individual.

6-4  Police responded to a drugstore in the 1900 block of Bailey Road for the report of theft. The store employee reported that around 3:00pm, two females entered the store and stole 38 packs of Newport cigarettes valued at $443.07. The employee showed the officer footage and stated she would make a copy to be picked up. There are leads but no suspects.

6-4  A resident in the 2600 block of Third Street requested police because a known individual took a TV remote from her residence without her consent. The value of the remote is $20.00. The victim wishes to prosecute. There are leads/suspects.

6-4  A restaurant in the 700 block of Howe Avenue beckoned police to report that a woman came into the restaurant requesting a refund for an order she did not place. The manager did not give her any food and the suspect became physically upset. The suspect is seen on video entering the restaurant and yelling profanities while making vague and unsubstantiated threats. A warrant of complaint has been issued for the woman for disorderly conduct.

6-4  A grocery store in the 2600 block of Bailey Road requested police after a suspect was caught stealing food and other miscellaneous items. Loss prevention has video of the incident that shows the suspect putting groceries in his shopping cart and leaving the store before being stopped by store employees. Store management stated they would turn in the video footage later that day for evidence. The suspect was given a summons for theft and was advised of a court date to appear at Stow Municipal. Officers cleared without further incident.

6-6  A grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue called for police after viewing loss prevention reports that show two unknown suspects left the store without paying for approximately $100 worth of food and grocery items. The suspects used self-check-out and did not scan 40 items while checking out. There were 19 items reportedly rung up and paid for by the suspects. The store reports the loss was around $100. There are leads but no suspects at this time. The store states they will prosecute.
