This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available July 3 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

6-11  A Bedford man reported that an unknown party stole the keys to his Honda Civic after he forgot them on the lamp post near his vehicle at Cinemark. The man then found someone entered his unlocked vehicle. The man’s friend reported the suspect stole his black Nike backpack from the front seat. The backpack contained various cologne and toiletry items; it is valued at $125.00. The cost to replace the Honda keys is unknown. Both men state they will prosecute. The men were given a victim’s rights pamphlet.

6-11  Police made a traffic stop on Home Avenue on a 2010 Ford F150 for an equipment violation. Police identified the driver and the passenger. Officers asked the passenger to step out of the vehicle in order for Akron’s K9 to conduct a sniff around the vehicle. While outside the vehicle, officers asked if he had anything illegal on him and he stated to officers that he had a glass pipe with drug residue in his waistband. He pulled it out and officers seized it. He was issued a summons and released on scene.

6-12  A convenience store manager in the 1200 block of Main Street summoned police after a female entered the business, took several items off of the shelf, placed them into a bag, and walked past the point of sale without paying. The female left the scene with two unknown males in a gray Kia Forte. During the investigation, the suspect was identified. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

6-12  A Howe Avenue grocery store requested police after an unknown black male and black female did knowingly obtain control over 1 pack of birthday candles (approximately $5.00) and 1 “Amigo” electric scooter (approximately $2000.00) and left the property of the grocery store without paying for the items. This action effectively deprived the grocery store of its property according to the police report. The “Amigo” scooter was recovered in the parking lot near the store. The business refused to file criminal charges.

6-15  Responding to an accident at Bailey Road near Highland Road, officers spoke to the passenger and detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Due to both occupants’ ages, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers located two packages of raw marijuana totaling 25.1g. The passenger was given a summons and released.

6-19  Police were beckoned to an Oakwood Drive convenience store by the manager who reported that a male with red hair and black clothing entered the store to make an alcohol purchase. The male was refused service and asked to leave. The manager stated the male always comes in to buy alcohol and when asked to leave became belligerent and left northbound on Oakwood Drive.

The suspect’s vehicle was located at Circle K, at Bath Road/Graham Road. The male was identified and found to be intoxicated, The suspect was given the opportunity to accomplish field sobriety tests and due to the outcome of those tests was placed under arrest for OVI. The suspect was then transported to Cuyahoga Falls City Jail and placed through the booking system, read a BMV 2255 and given an opportunity to provide a breath sample. The man was given a court date, released on a PR bond and turned over to the care of his wife.

6-19  Police responded to reports of a male slumped over behind the wheel. Upon arrival, EMS was evaluating the man who was behind the wheel of his Ford Focus and was cleared by EMS on scene. Officers then witnessed one open 16 ounce can of Bell’s Brewery Two Hearted IPA and ran the gentleman through field tests. The man passed; however, there were issues with a minor misdemeanor citation for open container and cleared without incident.
