This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available January 7 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
12-14 Officers responded to the scene of a traffic accident involving a 2024 Chevrolet. Officers observed indicators of impairment on the driver who was placed through field sobriety tests. The driver was subsequently arrested and processed at the Cuyahoga Falls Jail. Suspecting the driver was under the influence of alcohol and drugs, officers took a breath and urine sample which showed a BAC of .045. During a search of the vehicle, officers located 5.5 Diazepam 10mg, a schedule IV drug of abuse. The driver stated he did not have a prescription for the drug. The driver was released on bond to a sober party; further charges are pending the urine results.
12-26 While investigating a theft from other businesses, officers made contact with a suspect in a Howe Avenue parking lot, who was found to have new merchandise from a nearby discount outlet without a receipt. The discount outlet store manager stated the merchandise was stolen earlier that day by the suspect who had been previously trespassed by the business. The suspect was charged with theft and released on bond.
12-30 Police responded to a craft store in the 600 block of Howe Avenue where it was reported a known male stole five (5) white T-shirts by concealing them in his bag and left the store without paying. Officers located the male and recovered the shirts. The store declined prosecution. The male was trespassed from the store.
1-4 During a traffic stop on Route 8 North near Howe Avenue, officers identified both occupants. The driver was found to be in possession of a loaded Taurus 856 and two pressed white pills. These items were located after a probable cause search was conducted due to K9 indication on the vehicle. The items were found in the driver’s bookbag. The driver is not a qualified adult to possess a firearm due to a prior conviction of Domestic Violence. The pills were sent to BCI to undergo a chemical analysis. The driver was processed at the Cuyahoga Falls Jail and released on a PR bond then transported to Barberton Police Department due to an outstanding warrant.
1-2 During a traffic stop on Graham Road, officers found the driver to be under the influence and had in his possession a Smith & Wesson .40 Caliber M&P Shield with a magazine containing ammunition in the center console of the vehicle he was operating. The driver was arrested for OVI, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and using weapons while intoxicated. The driver was booked and released on bond to a sober party.
1-3 Police initiated a traffic stop on a Volkswagen Jetta for driving without the operating taillights. The driver was found to have a suspended license and the vehicle confirmed stolen through LEADS. The driver was arrested for receiving stolen property. Recovered and towed, Akron Police were notified and the vehicle removed from LEADS as stolen. The driver was transported to CFPD for booking and was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Driving While Under Suspension, Use of Taillights, and Fictitious Plates. The driver was released on a PR bond and was provided a courtesy transport to the Akron Transit Center.
1-4 A 28-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman reported to police that sometime overnight her vehicle was stolen with broken glass from the back window remaining. Shaker Heights PD called and advised that they were out with her vehicle and had suspects in custody. The victim does wish to prosecute.
1-5 Buffalo Biodiesel Inc, out of Buffalo NY, reported that on November 11, 2025 unknown person(s) stole used oil from the oil container located behind a pizza shop on Bailey Road. They reported additional damage was caused to the oil container during the theft. The estimated loss is $1,400. There are no suspects or leads at this time. Prosecution is desired.
