This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports between January 3-17 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
January 3 A Suncrest Drive resident reported her purse stolen from her shopping cart at a State Rd. grocery store. The purse contained cash and credit cards. The incident is under investigation.
January 4 An anonymous bystander reported a man sleeping on the sidewalk shortly before midnight in the 1600 block of Merline Ave. Cuyahoga Falls Fire arrived and transported the subject to Western Reserve Hospital where he was later charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication.
January 6 A Hudson man reported he had 2 tires slashed sometime before 6:00 pm while parked behind a business in the 2400 block of State Rd. He estimated the replacement cost to be $300. Police are investigating.
January 8 A loss prevention officer at a State Rd. grocery store observed a subject remove over 60 miscellaneous consumable goods without paying for them. The value of the stolen items was approximately $500. An East Portage Trail resident was charged.
January 12 During a routine traffic stop on Sackett Ave. near Cuyahoga St. a 19-year-old male was found to be driving under a suspended license and was placed under arrest. Upon searching the vehicle, a Glock handgun and ammunition was also discovered, and he was also charged for possession of the firearm.
January 14 A Kent woman was charged with OVI after being found intoxicated at the scene of an accident she caused in the 2100 block of Bailey Rd. She refused the opportunity to take a breath test. After she was processed, she was able to bond out and was released to a sober party.
January 17 A 14th Street resident reported that sometime between 2:30-6:00 am persons unknown removed a purse containing cash and a Deputy’s wife’s badge from an unlocked vehicle in their driveway. It was also reported that a debit card in the purse had been used for a purchase at a Sunoco station. The incident is under investigation.
