This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available February 28 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
February 15 A customer service representative at a Howe Ave. grocery store reported that a male subject pushed a shopping cart filled with miscellaneous consumable goods and merchandise past the point of sale and out to his vehicle. The customer service representative was able to confront the individual, and the items were recovered, however, the subject left the scene prior to officer arrival. The value of the items that were taken totaled a little over $400 and they did wish to prosecute.
Contact was made with the subject later, who was identified by the information provided to the police. The individual admitted to the offense and turned himself in to CFPD where he was booked and received a court date.
February 16 A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street in Cuyahoga Falls reported a theft in progress involving a pair of Portage County women in 2 separate vehicles. One of the suspects was able to be stopped and in plain view were the reported stolen items. She was charged with theft, a first degree misdemeanor and released. The woman did identify the second subject by name and a warrant has been issued for her. Approximately $120 of merchandise was bagged and carried out of the store.
February 19 A Winter Parkway resident reported that after delivery of his one-year supply of prescription was delivered to the mail area of his building, he received notice and a photo of the delivery shortly after 1:00 pm, but when he went to retrieve his package at 4:00 pm it was gone. There are no leads or suspects.
February 19 A resident of an apartment building in the 1800 block of Second Street reported that an individual known to her kept knocking on her door asking to be let in. She told police she didn’t want him in her apartment, and he has been previously trespassed from the property. Police found the individual in the lobby bathroom and confirmed he was presently trespassed by the building owner. He was issued a summons for criminal trespassing and police gave him a ride to a convenience store in Akron.
February 20 Police responded to a disturbance in the 2000 block of Chestnut Blvd. The investigation found that one of the women was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot awaiting the husband of a second woman who was also present. An altercation occurred between the two resulting in an estimated $2,000 damage to the waiting woman’s car. The second woman was charged with criminal damage and disorderly conduct and was released on bond awaiting her court date.
February 21 A Stow man was found to be intoxicated and lying on the ground with a bottle of vodka next to him in the parking lot in the 2300 block of State Road. The individual was transported to Western Reserve Hospital for medical treatment and was also cited for disorderly conduct.
February 22 A resident in the 2200 block of Hillside Street reported to police that sometime between February 15-22 somebody broke his car window that was parked in his garage. There are no leads or suspects.
