This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available February 11 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

1-29  A Sixth Street resident reported to police an unknown suspect used her personal information to open a Home Depot credit card in person. The card was opened on January 5 and has a balance of $4,923. The victim does wish to pursue charges and Cuyahoga Falls police has leads.

1-31  During a traffic stop on Route 8 North near Graham Road a 19-year-old Maple Heights woman was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage and 7.3 grams (total weight) of marijuana in a Ziploc bag.

2-1  Officers received multiple calls reporting a subject walking in the roadway, nearly being struck by passing vehicles, and yelling to himself. The individual stated he was intoxicated. The individual was cited for Disorderly Conduct Intox MM and transported to Detox.

2-2  A Resident of the 3600 block of Rockledge Trail reported to police that an unknown person stole his snowboard out of the bed of the truck that had a bed cover on it. The snowboard is worth $1,700 and the victim will sign charges. There are no leads or suspects.

2-3  A resident in the 2300 block of 18th Street reported to police a white male in a gray hoodie with blue arms, an orange beanie, and a mask was banging on their doors. Police arrived on scene and observed a male getting into a blue vehicle on the street outside of the residence. An investigative stop was done on the vehicle  which returned to a 33-year-old Kent man. The suspect stated that he had a friend that used to live at that address. It was found that the suspect was on the property at the rear of the house and opened a glass door. He was also seen taking pictures of a vehicle on the property. The resident did want to press charges and a complaint was signed. The suspect was given a summons for Criminal Trespass and released from the scene with a court date through Stow Municipal Court. Victims’ rights information given to the resident. 

2-3  The manager of a discount store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reports two unknown females came into the store and were observed gathering $330.92 in miscellaneous merchandise and fleeing the store without paying. There are leads and the store is willing to prosecute.

2-4  A resident in the 2200 block of 10th Street reported to police  that an unknown suspect entered her Chevy Equinox that was parked in the street. The victim stated the suspect took a wallet, $50 cash, and perfume. There are no suspects or leads. The loss is estimated at $150. The victim will prosecute.

2-4  A 58-year-old Akron woman was observed making a traffic violation. When officers initiated their emergency lights and sirens the suspect refused to obey the lawful signal and continued to drive away. The suspect was observed making more traffic violations and turned into an apartment complex and continued to drive around before stopping. The suspect showed signs of impairment and was arrested for OVI and Failure to comply with a lawful order. The suspect was booked at Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. BAC and SFST’s refused. OVI, Failure to comply with lawful order, marked lanes. 

2-3  A 93-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police that an unknown person stole his check he made out to Capital One after dropping it off at the post office. The unknown person then altered the check and cashed it for $9690.60 using a 5/3 Bank account. Capital One never received the payment. The victim is willing to sign charges.

2-3  A department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue contacted police after observing a shopper had concealed items in a plastic crate. The shopper paid for the crate, but not the items inside. She walked past the point of sale and attempted to leave before being stopped by loss prevention. The items were recovered. The total for the miscellaneous merchandise was $398.30. The shopper-turned-suspect left before officers arrived but they did get a license number.  Loss prevention officer for the store stated they would prosecute. 

2-4  A security guard for the Cuyahoga Falls Library reported than an unknown white male entered the library intoxicated. The guard stated that the male began yelling at him, causing inconvenience and annoyance to the patrons of the library, then exited the library on foot. The security guard advised that he wished to have the male trespassed from the property and that if the male returned that he would contact CFPD to trespass the male. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the unknown male suspect.

2-4  A resident in the 900 block of Pratt Avenue  reports that an unknown person entered her unlocked 2023 Kia while it was parked in her driveway. Nothing appears to be missing. The unknown person pulled open a panel on the steering column and appeared to have messed with some wires. The victim states her car’s check engine light is now on but she unsure if it was caused by the incident. The victim has already replaced the panel and her belongings in the car and didn’t see any suspicious tracks in the snow. The victim didn’t wish to press charges
