After the tenant cut the lock he discovered it had been stolen from. Missing were four power mains for a PA system, a 16-channel Mackie board, two amplifiers, an unknown brand backpack leaf blower, and approximately 200 collector die-cast metal mini cars. Due to some of the items being older and other collectibles the tenant was unable to provide an estimated value for the theft. The victim  is willing to prosecute and there are no leads.

4-15  Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Burnham Jump Drive for a report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers heard music with loud bass coming from a room inside the residence. Officers spoke to the known homeowner who was able to turn the volume down to a normal level. The male was warned for disorderly conduct due to the time of night.

4-17  A Northfield man reported to police that an unknown person almost struck him with their vehicle while he was walking into a grocery store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue. The man states that the driver of a Dodge Journey got out of the vehicle after he confronted the driver and came at him with a black folding knife, chasing him across the parking lot. The victim states that the male then ran away when he stated he was calling the police and got back into his vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was unsure about prosecution and was referred to the prosecutor’s office. The suspect was identified and contacted and had a conflicting account of the incident.

4-19  A shoe store in the 600 block of Howe Avenue contacted police after a customer was pepper-sprayed by an unknown female (Suspect 1). The victim stated he had found a cell phone on a shoebox in an aisle and was asking the store manager if the phone was hers when Suspect 1 ran up to him. Suspect 1 began accusing him of taking her phone and an argument ensued, in which another unknown female (Suspect 2) joined in and began calling him a few unsavory names. The victim  handed the phone over and went to another aisle. The two suspects came over to his location, acting as if they were walking out of the store, and Suspect 1 pepper-sprayed him. The two suspects continued walking out the front of the store, then ran to a silver SUV and fled the parking lot. The victim  sustained injury and had to rinse his face and eyes with water and was unable to see correctly for approximately a half hour. 4-20  Police made a traffic stop on a white Nissan driving west on Oakwood Drive  with its headlights off after dark. Upon contact with the driver police detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was given the opportunity to take field sobriety tests which she refused and was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while under the influence. The driver also refused to give a breath sample. She was booked into the Cuyahoga Falls Jail and later released on a signature bond. The woman was charged with OVI and lighted lights after dark.

4-20  Police responded to Broad Boulevard and Third Street where an unknown caller reported that a female was passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and pulled onto the sidewalk. On scene the vehicle had no major body damage and no airbags deployed. The female was identified. Cuyahoga Falls Fire was dispatched, treated the woman, and diagnosed her with “being drunk.” The diagnoses came partially from the woman’s admission to police she’d been drinking, but also to her physical condition of having slurred speech, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, a stumbling walk, and no physical injuries, all in connection with her being found passed out in an illegally parked vehicle, blocking the sidewalk. Based on the passerby call time of 0726, the vehicle being warm, and the woman’s admission to driving, she was investigated for OVI. The suspect performed field sobriety tests  and was subsequently arrested for OVI. The suspect then provided a breath sample of .165 and was released from custody on a PR bond to a sober party.

4-21  Police received a report from a discount store in the 1700 block of State Road where an unknown male did conceal $70 worth of merchandise in his jacket and left the store without paying. The suspect was gone prior to police arrival. They will prosecute.

The woman was driving in her vehicle with her two kids before coming to a four way stop. The woman was coincidentally greeted at the four-way stop by her dad who was riding a children’s dirt bike, which was also occupied by his 11-year-old stepdaughter. During their exchange an unknown white male driving a dark sedan arrived at the same intersection and was obviously upset. The unknown male exited his vehicle brandishing an unknown firearm from his trunk and directed it towards The father. During this action the woman asked the male if she needed to call the police on him to which the male replied: “I’m over this $h#t, I’m going to shoot you and your family.” The woman secured her stepsister from the dirt bike and left the scene with all the juveniles. The suspect then left the scene and there was no further incident. The woman described the firearm as an assault rifle and her father described it as a pistol grip shotgun. Both victims are willing to prosecute.

4-22  The manager of a Bailey Road grocery store requested police due to a publicly intoxicated man. A manager called stating that an elderly male was highly intoxicated and she had refused to sell alcohol to him. The man was stumbling and slurring his speech. He went back to his vehicle and threw empty alcohol bottles from the car. He then went back inside and attempted to buy alcohol again. The officers made contact in the store. The man was stumbling and slurring his speech. He was given a citation for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and warned for open container. The man was picked up by his son.

4-23  Officers responded to the intersection of Bath Road and Graham Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer located a male who was asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle while the vehicle was on and in drive. Officers were able to wake the man and get the vehicle in park. The suspect reported he was driving from Akron. An open container was found in the front cup holder within arm’s reach of the suspect, and he stated to officers that he had taken a shot of vodka. The suspect agreed to go through field sobriety tests, after which he was placed under arrest for OVI. He did, however, refuse to do the BAC testing. The man was transported to CFPD and booked. During the booking process officers found a fictitious driver’s license out of Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania license returned to an unknown individual and listed date of birth as June 12, 2001.
