Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.
City council held a meeting of the whole Monday night to approve the appointment of Dr. Nancy Iula to complete the term of her husband Jeff Iula on the Charter Review Committee. In his comments, Mayor Walters stated that Jeff is currently in physical rehabilitation and unable to attend the remaining two meetings, and she is every bit as savvy over current city affairs as Jeff, and would be the perfect candidate to fulfil his term. Council voted to accept the appointment 10-0.
New Ordinances & Resolutions
B-31: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, according to law, for the replacement of the roof at the Municipal Garage in the City of Cuyahoga Falls. This legislation was assigned to the finance committee for discussion Monday, May 19 at 6:30pm
B-32*: An ordinance creating the Reserve at Boulder Estate Tax Increment Financing Incentive District; declaring improvements to the parcels within the incentive district to be a public purpose and exempt from real property taxation; requiring the owners of those parcels to make service payments in lieu of taxes; establishing a municipal public improvement tax increment equivalent fund for the deposit of those service specifying the payments; public infrastructure improvements that benefit or serve parcels in the incentive district. This legislation was assigned to the planning and zoning committee who will hold a public hearing for B-32 will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025.
