This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available August 26 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
8-15 Police responded to Cathedral Lane for a report of two females recklessly causing inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm to another by engaging in fighting and threatening harm to persons or property, to wit: the two known females got into a physical altercation over smoking outside by knocking items out of each other’s hands, pulling hair, and grabbing wrists. They were warned for disorderly conduct and advised to leave each other alone.
8-18 Police received a call for a male wearing a red shirt hitting cars, walking in the roadway, and shaking his fist at motorists passing by.
CFPD arrived and made contact with a known male who was upset that someone was panhandling on the corner where he usually panhandles. The known male was not observed to be in the roadway or making gestures. He was advised to move along to a different part of the road to conduct his business.
8-19 A Bath Road resident reports that his vehicle subwoofer setup was stolen from his vehicle. The victim found a Facebook Marketplace listing of his allegedly stolen items. The victim values the items stolen at $1,949.17 and does wish to prosecute.
8-19 In the 200 block of Portage Trail police observed a 68-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man to be in a public place with an open container of 40oz Icehouse beer. The beer was cold to the touch and 1/4 full. He was cited for open container and given a court date.
8-20 Police responded to a convenience store in the 2800 block of State Road where the assistant manager reports that an unknown male left the store with items that he didn’t purchase. The male did not try to conceal the items or pay for them when he walked out of the store; two packs of Newport cigarettes, 16oz Noz energy drink, and a garlic parmesan chicken sandwich valued at $28.74 were taken. The store employee did not know at this time if he was going to prosecute for theft. While on patrol, police observed a male at State Road and Broad Boulevard that matched the description of a theft suspect from the call. The male was identified and released pending determination of whether the victim wishes to prosecute.
Police did check with the reporting party that they did wish to prosecute for theft pending further follow up, charges will be signed.
8-20 Police responded to a grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road where the assistant team leader reported an unknown male began yelling and screaming profanities in front of customers after being asked to leave the premises. The employee stated the male had been selling candy bars outside the store. There are no leads at this time. The employe stated that, if the male can be identified, he wants the male to be formally trespassed from the property.
8-20 A loss prevention employee at a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reported a suspect concealed a GoPro camera worth $300.99 in his waistband and walked past the point of sale. When approached by loss prevention, the suspect threw the GoPro and left in his vehicle. Officers stopped the suspect on Howe Avenue and arrested for theft.
8-22 Officers responded to the 2700 block of 11th Street for a vehicle with no license plate. Officers observed the vehicle on the property, however, located the last known registration registered to a known female. Officers were unable to make contact with the female or anyone at the residence. A warning card was left.
8-24 An electronics store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue reports an unknown male stole $2194.96 worth of electronics by loading a shopping cart and leaving the store without paying. The male was seen leaving in a Red SUV. There are leads at this time. Prosecution is desired.
8-24 Officers responded to 1600 block of 9th Street for a vehicle, a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, reported to CFPD in violation of Cuyahoga Falls ORD 351.18. The vehicle was seen on the property, however, the license plate no longer returns in Leads, and no owner could be identified. Officers were unable to make contact with the resident. A warning card was left.
