This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available August 5 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
7-27 A home improvement store in the 100 block of Graham Road reported to police that an unknown male entered the store, placed multiple copper wires in an O’Cedar mop box then went past the point of sale without paying for the wire ($1,187). There are leads at this time. The store stated they did want to prosecute for shoplifting.
7-27 A resident in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue reports that sometime after midnight, an unknown individual entered her vehicle without permission and stole approximately $40 in cash from a money container inside the vehicle. The victim stated that she awoke to find her personal belongings scattered outside and around the vehicle. The victim advised that she wishes to pursue charges for theft from a motor vehicle. There are no leads at this time.
7-28 A Cathedral Lane resident reported to police that on July 23rd, while in the hospital, his girlfriend allowed two of her friends inside his residence to shower and get food. It was discovered upon returning home from the hospital that his Xanax (45 count) and Oxycodone (120 count) prescriptions were taken without consent. The man does wish to pursue charges.
7-28 A membership store in the 1100 block of Buchholzer Boulevard reported to police that two unknown individuals were seen stealing boxes of Kit Kat bars. The individuals were witnessed by employees putting two bulk-sized boxes of Kit Kat bars totaling $83.44 into a backpack and leaving the store without paying. There are leads and no suspects. The store would like to prosecute for the theft.
7-28 A North Mill Drive resident reports that on July 25 her PNC credit and debit cards were stolen from her Hyundai Tucson that was parked outside of her apartment complex. The victim states that the debit card had a charge of $408.74 from July 11 on Main Street and the credit card had a charge of $406.84 from the Walmart in Stow. Both charges were discovered on July 25. Officers provided the victim with relevant information and advised her to provide an update if there are any new charges or if she observes anything else missing from her vehicle. The victim would like to prosecute.
7-28 Police responded to a restaurant in the 600 block of Portage Trail
where they observed a 28-year-old Shaker Heights woman intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the restaurant. They asked her to leave, and officers made contact with her outside the restaurant. She was given a citation for Disorderly Conduct while intoxicated and given a courtesy ride to Detox.
7-28 A convenience store in the 600 block of Graham Road requested police after the manager observed a suspect enter the store, open a cell phone charger from the shelf, used the charger within the store, and then left without paying for the charger. The charger was valued at $24.99 and was recovered within the store.
The store manager stated he was willing to prosecute for the theft and signed the criminal complaint. The manager requested restitution due to being unable to resell an open charger. The suspect was issued a summons and released into the custody of Stow PD for several warrants through their agency.
7-29 A resident in the 2600 block of Marica Boulevard reported to police that an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle, around 3am, where it was parked in her driveway. She found the driver’s side door open in the morning; however, no items were taken. She wished to prosecute if the suspect can be identified. The suspect was seen on camera wearing all dark clothing. No further specifics could be recognized.
7-29 A resident in the 1900 block of 17th Street contacted police after discovering an unknown individual entered her unlocked vehicle between 10pm and 5:30am. The victim stated the individual stole a tan backpack containing approximately $500 worth of Riftbound cards. While officers were speaking with the victim a neighbor located the cards in her driveway and returned them to the victim. There are no leads at this time. The victim declined prosecution.
7-29 Cuyahoga Falls PD conducted a traffic stop on Howe Avenue and East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue. While standing at the front passenger’s side window, officers observed several open containers of alcoholic beverage on the passenger’s side floorboard. Additionally, when the driver of the vehicle, Jonathan Campbell, looked for the vehicle’s registration in the glove box, officers observed several more open containers of alcoholic beverages. The driver consented to field sobriety tests, to which officers determined he was not under the influence. The driver was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for having an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, a citation for driving under suspension, and a citation for expired license plates.
7-29 A department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue contacted police for a report of a male yelling in employees’ faces, getting increasingly aggressive and refusing to leave at the store. Store management advised he was exiting the store and coming back multiple times. Officers arrived and made contact with store employees as well as the suspect. He was irate about his produce order and was causing inconvenience, annoyance and alarm to employees and the public. The suspect had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and was swaying and almost fell down multiple times while walking through the store. The store loss prevention officer advised he was trespassed for a year and had to leave without purchasing the produce. The suspect was given a formal trespass warning and advised to leave, which he refused without purchasing his item first, so he was escorted out of the business by CFPD. The suspect was cited for disorderly conduct by intoxication and taken to his residence where he was released to a sober person.
7-29 A resident reported that someone entered his unlocked Chevrolet parked in the driveway in the 2000 block of lota Avenue. The man’s wallet was taken from the vehicle but was found by a neighbor on 26th Street. The wallet, Ohio ID, and five credit cards were all recovered. The victim will prosecute for Theft from a Motor Vehicle
7-31 CFPD was dispatched to a business in the 1700 block of State Road for a male who was being disorderly. A manager at the business reports the male was yelling and hit one of the chairs. After escorting the suspect off the property and advising him of being trespassed, he walked back onto the property to look for a bag. The manager declined charges and the suspect was escorted off the property again. Officers remained on scene until the suspect had vacated the area.
8-1 Police responded to the 1200 block of Main Street in reference to an intoxicated male passed out on the sidewalk. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with the male suspect who was initially unresponsive but breathing on the sidewalk in front of the business with an open container of Four Loko. CFFD was requested to the scene and stated that they believed that this was an alcoholic issue and not a drug issue. Officers did observe a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the suspect’s person. As a result, the suspect was issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct while voluntarily intoxicated and open container in public. The suspect was then transported to detox by CFPD.
