This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available April 29 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

4-17  A restaurant in the 4800 block of State Road contacted police reports that on April 16, a customer ordered drinks and food and left without paying. The manager provided a license plate number and  a phone number was also obtained that officers used to reach the suspect. The restaurant provided a receipt of $108.90 for the unpaid meal. Officers also requested that the manager send video and photo evidence of the interaction. They then spoke with the suspect via telephone. The male did state that he was there and did not pay for his meal. The suspect was issued a summons for theft.

4-20  An Akron woman reported to police that an unknown person took her black wallet containing $500 cash and miscellaneous cards, after she left it in a cart after shopping at a grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue. Video footage showed her wallet being turned into security; however, security was then approached by an unknown female, and the wallet was given to her. The victim does wish to prosecute.

4-20  A discount store in the 3900 block of State Road reported to police that an unknown male stole a prepaid ATT cell phone, valued at $39. The suspect grabbed the phone from a display and ran out the rear door of the store. There are currently no leads, but the store wishes to pursue criminal charges. The report number was provided.

4-21  Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Seventh Street. Officers made contact with the occupants, and due to the odor of marijuana and both occupants being under 21, a search of the vehicle was conducted. An ash tray and a can of ZYN pouches were found in the car, as well as a nicotine vape on the passenger’s person. Due to both occupants not having any criminal history, they were not cited and advised and released.

4-22  A card shop in the 2100 block of Front Street reported that on April 7, individuals came into the shop and bought $1,340 worth of trading cards using 2 different cards in multiple transactions. The shop owner was then notified that the transaction for $484.71 was charged back and declined on April 22. The victim gave police information on the 2 individuals who made the multiple transactions. The victim does wish to prosecute.

4-23  Police responded to a pet store in the 300 block of Howe Avenue for two known females engaged in a verbal argument and exchanged profanities in the store parking lot. This argument was over the method in which one female was wiping her dog’s buttocks as the other female felt she was hurting the dog .A witness corroborated the incident and stated the dog was not in distress. The situation was de-escalated by the time police arrived and both parties were warned for Disorderly Conduct.

4-24  A 64-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man reported to police he attempted to purchase a vehicle from Harold’s Used Cars in Muskegon, Michigan. The victim reports he sent $11,500 via wire transfer to an unknown suspect as a down payment for a 1965 Ford Mustang. The victim reports he never received the vehicle and the suspect never responded to him. Prosecution is desired.

4-24  A 36-year-old Wadsworth woman was found in possession of Fentanyl, drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop near Howe Avenue and Main Street. The suspect was arrested for possession of controlled substance, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and later released on her own recognizance. Suspected Fentanyl was sent to BCI for analysis.

4-24  Police were contacted after a loss prevention specialist for a drug store in the 600 block of Portage Trail reported that a pharmacy tech at the business stole cash from the register on multiple occasions, totaling $52. Loss prevention provided a written statement made by the suspect admitting to stealing the money, as well as video evidence of the thefts. The store advised officers they wished to prosecute.

4-27  Police made a traffic stop on a 46-year-old North Canton man on Route 8 near Graham Road when they found the driver to be in possession of a loaded and concealed Taurus G2c handgun, two plastic bags crack cocaine (totaling weight 20.4 grams), three plastic bags with both methamphetamine and cocaine (totaling weight 16.3 grams), an open container of Teremana Tequila, and multiple fresh unused plastic bags while in the presence of his 3-year-old son.
