This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available April 22 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

4-14  A resident in the 2600 block of Sixth Street reported to police that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked rear door and his unlocked garage door. The suspect then entered his unlocked vehicle and stole miscellaneous tools from the center console. Garden shears were also stolen from the garage. The value of the tools is approximately $200. He wishes to pursue criminal charges, and the report number was provided. No leads or suspects.

4-14  Officers were dispatched to assist CFFD for vehicle fire with a male slumped at the wheel. Male was identified. Through investigation officers determined that the suspect was in physical control of a vehicle while impaired and he was arrested. The driver refused all chemical tests and was transported to Western Reserve Hospital.

4-14  A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported that an unknown male did knowingly take items from the store without paying totaling $174.35 and walk past the point of sale. The manager  states she suspected the unknown male to be stealing. When confronted by staff about not paying for the items, the unknown male left the store. The items taken were left in the parking lot and recovered by the store employees. The manager stated that they do want to prosecute if the unknown male is identified.

4-15  A Sixteenth Street resident was cited for allowing her dog to run at large. Her dog broke through the screen door and bit another dog that was on a walk across the street. A dog designation sheet was completed, labeling her dog as an aggressive dog. She has a court date with The Cuyahoga Falls Mayor’s Court.

4-16  A fast food restaurant in the 1800 block of State Road reported reports that a known female came into the store and started throwing her food on the counter. The female left then came back and threw a gallon of milk on the outside glass of the store. The female was gone before police arrived. No one was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

4-17  A Fourth Street resident contacted police after discovering that an unknown suspect used her personal identity information to open up student loans from Sallie Mae in her name. The victim stated that a $8,000 loan was opened for Cuyahoga Community College in 2025. The victim stated that due to not paying the loan she has taken a hit on her credit. The victim does wish to prosecute at this time.

4-17  During a traffic stop at Chestnut Boulevard and Seventeenth Street criminal indicators were observed in combination with all four occupants being known drug users. An assisting Akron K-9 alerted to the vehicle. Upon a probable cause search, multiple squares of tin foil and 2 cut snorting straws were located in a handbag belonging to passenger one. Passenger 2 knowingly gave false identifying information to avoid police detection, but was found to have multiple outstanding theft warrants out of CFPD and other agencies. Passenger 1 was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a summons. Passenger 2 was transported back to CFPD for booking and released on bond into the custody of Fairlawn PD.

4-18  CFPD attempted a traffic stop on a black Ford Focus for reckless operation. The unknown driver fled from law enforcement, driving east on Howe Ave. The pursuit was eventually terminated for public safety. The unknown driver was not located and there is no other suspect information at this time.

4-18  Officers were dispatched to Prange Drive where a 26-year-old woman reported an unknown person(s) urinated or poured urine onto the driver’s door of her 2012 Chevy Cruz. The victim reported there were no visible damages but it needed to be cleaned thoroughly. There are possible leads. Prosecution is desired.

4-19  Police responded to the 3800 block of State Road regarding a male who had entered the laundromat while drinking and vaping. Officers made contact with the male who stated that he did have a cup containing beer and complied with officers’ request to pour it out. Officers issued a warning to the male regarding the open container and advised him that future violations could result in a citation. The male was also trespassed from the property and given a ride to the Walmart in Stow.

4-19  During a traffic stop on Route 8 South near Graham Road, a known male was found to be in possession of open marijuana in a motor vehicle. The male was advised of the new marijuana laws and placed his marijuana in the correct legal location of his motor vehicle.

4-19  Police followed up on Prior Park Drive for a complaint from housing of a black Buick sedan in violation of Cuyahoga Falls ORD 351.18. While on scene the officer found that the vehicle reported to be in violation was not at the residence. No follow up needed. Case Closed.
