This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available March 18 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

3-13  Police made a traffic stop at Fourth Street and Oakwood Drive where they observed a silver sedan fail to make a complete stop at a stop sign. When speaking to the driver police could detect the odor of raw marijuana in the vehicle. The driver stated that he smoked marijuana earlier in the evening. A probable cause search of the vehicle found a black and white marijuana grinder with residue inside. The driver was under 21 years of age and not legally allowed to possess marijuana at the time of the traffic stop, he was cited for marijuana paraphernalia and a stop sign violation.

3-13  A car wash on West Portage Trail contacted police after a known individual came through the car wash and began yelling at employees and made statements that he was going to beat them up. The manager and the other employees were concerned with the individual coming back. Prosecution was declined at this time. The individual was advised that he is trespassed from this location.

3-13  A convenience store in the 1700 block of Fourth Street reported that an unknown male in a wheelchair knowingly concealed merchandise in his shirt and backpack before passing the point of sale without paying for the items. The manager stated that they do not wish to prosecute at this time.

3-13  A convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported an unknown female suspect stole two Newport 100s cartons valued at $231.31. An unknown male suspect who arrived with the suspect may have taken part in the theft by causing a distraction. The store is willing to prosecute.

3-14  Police responded to the 2700 block of  Fairview Avenue for a junk motor vehicle complaint regarding two vehicles. The two vehicles were found to be a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford F-350. Police spoke to the resident and owner of the vehicles and informed the resident of the purpose for the interaction. He stated that the Jeep was going to be sold to a friend to be used for parts, and the truck would also be able to be operable and properly registered in the near future. Police informed him of the follow up process. Follow up to be done at the beginning of April. 

3-15  A doughnut shop in the 300 block of Tallmadge Road reported that a known male had been locked inside the bathroom since approximately 1330 hours and was refusing to leave. Officers advised the male multiple times that he was trespassed from the location. The male continued to refuse to exit the locked bathroom for over 20 minutes. The manager stated that the store did not wish to pursue prosecution. The male was officially trespassed from the property.

3-16  A fast food restaurant in the 300 block of Howe Avenue reported to police that an individual came through the drive through laying on her horn. The individual pulled up to the window and was told she wouldn’t be served. The individual began to bang on the window  while calling the employees slurs and saying she was going to retrieve a gun. Restaurant  employees did not wish to pursue any charges. The would-be customer  was issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct.

3-16   A North Mill Road resident reported to police that he noticed his handgun, a gray and black Ruger ec9, was missing from his truck today. The victim reports he almost always leaves the firearm in his truck and locks his truck. The victim reports the last time he saw the gun was around 4pm the day before. The victim’s truck does not have any signs of forced entry. The victim could not provide the serial number of the firearm. No LEADS entry made at time of reporting. Prosecution is desired.

3-16  A 53-year-old Prospect Street resident reported to police that he was driving southbound on Newberry Street near Taylor Avenue when an unknown suspect threw an unknown object at his Ford F150 causing damage to the driver side door that totals around $500. There are no leads or suspects. The victim does want to prosecute.

3-16  A hotel in the 1900 Block of Front Street reported to police that an unknown male was sleeping on the couch overnight at the hotel. The male was found to not be a guest of the hotel and asked to leave the premises. The male party was advised he is not welcome on the property and given a trespass warning.
