This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available January 21 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
1-8 A 26-year-old Akron woman was found to be in possession of an open container of Termana tequila while in a motor vehicle. The suspect was warned for her violation.
1-11 While investigating a traffic stop on a 2003 GMC Sierra, the driver was found with an open container of Jim Beam Whiskey after consenting to a search of his person. A search of the vehicle was conducted and nothing else of interest was located. The driver was released on scene with a citation.
1-12 Police took a report from a Windham Circle resident who found a fresh dent in his windshield around 1400 hours, possibly from a BB gun or a small rock. He found screws near his tires a couple days earlier. He stated he did not have anyone he suspected that would want to harm his property. He stated he would prosecute. Case was closed due to no leads.
1-13 The manager of a membership-only box store reports thefts that occurred between January 6 and January 8 by the same unknown male suspect. The male stole a laptop each day. The laptops are worth $999 each for a total of $1,998. The store stated they will prosecute. There are leads.
12-13 A convenience store in the 200 block of Main Street reported two males in the store that had stolen alcohol earlier. One male was wearing a red coat and the other a camo-colored jacket. While watching them on camera he noticed the male in the red coat take another bottle and put it in his coat. Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description given and identified the males. A search was done of the vehicle and located a bottle of On the Rocks alcohol. Total loss was $38.97. The one bottle recovered was returned to the store with the other two not located. Both parties were charged with theft and trespassed. The store manager signed the complaint, and the parties released from scene.
1-15 A State Road automobile dealer reports that one of their rental vehicles has been stolen. The service manager reports that a known male was using the rental while their vehicle was being repaired but had not returned the rental. The service manager states they have called the phone number on file for the known male multiple times but have made no contact. After further investigation, it was determined that the registered license plate from the Akron hit/skip does not match the rental vehicle. The automobile dealer is continuing to investigate the possibility of a stolen vehicle and advised that the discrepancy could be due to an error on their part. The dealer did not have a vehicle to enter into LEADS at this time.
1-17 A home improvement store in the 100 block of Graham Road reported to police an unknown male suspect stole two security systems worth $389.99 for a total of $779.98. The suspect fled through the entrance to a dark colored sedan where he got into the passenger seat. The store is willing to prosecute. There is a lead.
1-18 A 19-year-old Akron man was stopped by police while on a traffic stop and, while being under the age of 21 years old, was found to be in possession of a loaded and concealed ready at hand Glock 19 handgun, 19.5 grams of marijuana, and marijuana paraphernalia.
1-20 Officers conducted a traffic stop at State Road and Chestnut Boulevard. During the traffic stop, the registered owner of the vehicle was found to have a felony warrant out of Akron PD for strangulation. Officers confirmed the warrant out of Akron and placed the suspect under arrest. While in custody, the suspect stated he had an open liquor bottle in his center console. Officers found an open bottle of Tito’s Vodka in the center console of the vehicle. The suspect was issued a traffic citation and a minor misdemeanor citation for an open container in a motor vehicle and then transferred into the custody of Akron PD for his warrant.
