This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available December 10 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

11-26  Officers initiated a traffic stop on Route 8 South near Second Street for an equipment violation. The driver states he smoked marijuana earlier in the day. Officers smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle and, during a search of the vehicle, located multiple marijuana smoking devices and tobacco e-vapes. Due to the driver being under the age of 21, he was cited for marijuana paraphernalia.

11-26  A Munroe Falls Avenue resident reported to police that an unknown individual gained access to his Amazon account by an unknown means and fraudulently purchased multiple items without his permission in the amount of 194.37. No transactions were made in Cuyahoga Falls. The victim reports money used for the purchases was taken from his checking account via debit card. The victim reports he tried calling Amazon and was likely scammed in the process by someone alleging to be a US Marshall. No money was taken during the scamming incident, but information was collected from the victim. The victim was advised to call Amazon using the official phone number in the app in order to have his account canceled and refunded due to fraud. The victim was also advised to contact his bank regarding the fraudulent activity and to get a credit report done.

11-29  An 18-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was stopped for driving 82mph in a 55mph zone on SR-8 near Second Street. When officers made contact with the man a strong odor of marijuana emanated from the vehicle. The driver gave consent to search his person, and a THC disposable vape pen was located in his front left pants pocket. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted where a large plastic bag containing marijuana was located weighing 130.4 grams in total with packaging. The driver was cited and released from the scene.

11-29  Loss prevention for a Howe Avenue department store reports an identified female stole misc. clothes, toys and books by concealing the items in her bag and leaving the point-of-sale area without paying. The total value of items stolen is $262.15. All items were recovered and the suspect trespassed from the store and released with a summons.

12-1  The owner of a tool rental business in the 1100 block of Main Street reports that a 3,000-WATT Honda generator was rented to a known male on November 10, 2025 for a one day rental. The generator has not been returned, the business is unable to contact the male who rented the equipment, and they are unable to charge payment to the credit card used to rent the equipment. The value of the generator is $2,500. The business does wish to pursue charges.

12-1  Police conducted a traffic stop on a 35-year-old Barberton man for a registration violation as well as an equipment violation. In plain view officers located an open container in the back seat of the vehicle, a search following located two more open containers. All three open containers located did not have any alcohol in them, and appeared to be old. The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for the violations.

12-1  On November 30, 2025 a suspect’s vehicle was towed by police after he was found to be driving under suspension. On December 1, the suspect went to B&B Towing to retrieve personal items from the vehicle. Without permission to do so, the suspect drove the vehicle from the lot through a side yard and left the scene without paying tow fees totalling $215. Charges were signed and a warrant was issued.

12-2  Police took a report for shoplifting at a boutique in the 1200 block of Main Street where the manager reported someone concealed a light-up buttplug valued at $39 and left without paying. There are leads and a suspect. Prosecution is desired.

12-2  The manager of a convenience store in the 1200 block of Main Street reported two males put various boxes of candy into bags and left the store without paying. The manager estimated the cost to be $200. They left in a black Jeep with Ohio plates. The store will prosecute. There are leads and no suspects.

12-2 The manager of a State Road convenience store reported an individual consumed four buzzballs, two cups of coffee and a bag of beef jerky without paying. The suspect also concealed multiple packs of Skittles, gum, fireball, and a pack of earphones under his jacket. The suspect was confronted by the store manager after passing the point of sales where the suspect returned some items. Down the road the suspect was stopped by police and the rest of the items were recovered. The total amount stolen was $88.39. The manager signed charges and the suspect  was trespassed from the store.

12-4  Police conducted a traffic stop on the on-ramp to State Route 8 North from Howe on a silver Toyota Camry with expired registration. The officer, using lights and sirens on, was able to get the vehicle to stop just before Broad Boulevard. The driver was given commands to exit the vehicle and walk back to the cruiser, where she was detained. After the driver was Mirandized and interviewed, it was determined that she was unsure what she was supposed to do and believed the police were trying to get around her. The driver was cited for the expired plates.

12-4  The manager of a Bailey Road convenience store contacted police after a customer had left a THC vape pen inside the store. After the pen was put into lost and found, an employee stole the pen and took it home. The manager confronted the employee, retrieved the pen, and fired the employee. The pen was put into property and marked for destruction. The manager did not want prosecution, and only wanted police to take the pen due to store policy.
