Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.
New Ordinances & Resolutions
The following ordinances were read before city council and assigned to their appropriate committee for discussion Monday, October 6.
B-77: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with S & S Excavating Inc. for the maintenance and repair of the city’s storm water, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems. Assigned to the finance committee for discussion October, 6 at 6:30.
B-78: A resolution expressing support for and urging the passage of Issue 1, the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADM) Board renewal and increase levy at the General Election to be held on November 4, 2025. Assigned to the public affairs committee for discussion October 6 at 6:30.
B-77: A resolution expressing support for and urging passage of Issue 52, the Cuyahoga Falls City School District renewal levy at the General Election to be held on November 4, 2025. Assigned to the public affairs committee for discussion October 6 at 6:30.

Finance & Appropriations:
B-65: A resolution accepting the amounts and rates of taxation as certified by the Summit County Budget Commission, authorizing the necessary tax levies, certifying such authorization to the county fiscal officer. Passed 10-0.
B-66: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with Altec Industries, for the purpose of replacing the truck body on the 2016 Altec Model M2-106 Digger Derrick. Passed 10-0.
B-67: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, according to law, for the installation of above-ground fuel storage tanks and associated equipment. Passed 10-0.
B-68: An ordinance authorizing the Parks and Recreation Board to enter into a contract with BOLD Designs & Recreation LLC for the installation of play equipment at Valley Vista Park. Passed 10-0.
B-69: An ordinance authorizing the Parks and Recreation Board to enter into a contract with Safe Slide Restoration for water slide paint and repairs at Water Works Family Aquatic Center. Passed 10-0.
B-70: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with Collins Excavating Construction and & D&C Construction & Excavating for the maintenance and repair of the city’s storm water, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems. Passed 10-0.
B-71: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a cooperative agreement with the County of Summit, Ohio to share the cost of engineering of the North Main Street bridge over the Cuyahoga River. Passed 10-0.
Public & Industrial Improvements:
B-74: An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 38-2025 for the purpose of including construction of a new training facility and training prop in the contract or contracts. Passed 10-0.
Public Affairs:
B-72: A resolution authorizing the Electric Utility Superintendent to represent the City of Cuyahoga Falls as a member of the Board of Trustees of American Municipal Power, Inc. Passed 10-0.
B-73: An ordinance amending the Traffic Control File. Passed 10-0.
Community Development:
B-76: An ordinance authorizing the mayor to execute the revised Summit County Intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding for Job Creation and Retention and Tax Revenue Sharing. Passed 10-0.
Miscellaneous Business:
Finance Director Bryan Hoffman gave Council an overview of Report 21. Hoffman started by saying that they are closely watching the municipal income tax, and are close but haven’t hit 2024’s numbers. In the hotel/motel tax category we are 10% higher than we were in 2024 and the leisure time fund is up from last year with Water Works being up 9 percent, bringing the Water Works numbers to almost a million for the year.
Council voted to excuse the absence of Mary Nichlos Rhodes from Monday’s meeting and it passed 10-0.
Monday, October 20 there will be two public hearings. One will be for Ordinance 41-2023, “the Downtown DORA” legislation, for its yearly review. The second public hearing will be for B-75, an ordinance approving text amendments to the Cuyahoga Falls Development Code. The public is encouraged to attend and comment on both pieces of legislation.
Councilman Mike Brillhart also announced that October 15 at 10:30am there will be a dedication service for the Fire Fighters memorial in front of Station One on Front Street.
