This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available September 10 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
8-29 A resident in the 900 block of Davis Avenue reported to police that a neighbor’s dog was barking loudly and had been barking for 4 hours. The owner of the dog arrived home from work and explained she recently got the dog in the last couple weeks and was still trying to figure out how to adjust the dog to home life. The owner was warned for the barking dog. No recent prior calls at this address.
8-31 Police made a traffic stop on State Road near Steels Corners Road. The owner of the vehicle consented to a search of his vehicle, during which an open container of Budweiser was located. The rear seat passenger claimed ownership of the alcohol. The passenger was cited for the alcohol and given a court date.
9-1 A 67-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman reported to police that her daughter utilized her banking information to transfer funds as well as make other purchases to a value of $618.15. The use of funds from her bank account started on August 25 and continued through August 27, done so without her consent. The victim does wish to prosecute.
9-1 A manager at a discount store in the 500 block of Howe Avenue reported that a male, 6’1”, thin build, in his 60s, wearing gray sweats, blue shoes, black hat, and a gray in color shirt stole an unknown amount of merchandise from the store, going past the point of sale without paying. A police officer while patrolling the area located the male in an SUV in the adjacent parking lot. The male was identified and found with the belongings in his possession. The items were recovered and taken back to the store. The total stolen was $293.17 dollars and all items were recovered. The suspect was charged with theft and taken to Cuyahoga Falls jail where he was held on a different warrant.
9-3 Police attempted a traffic stop at Broad Boulevard and Front Street on a black motorcycle with no plates. When police activated their lights and sirens, the motorcycle fled northbound on State Route 8, weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed. Police then terminated the pursuit. The vehicle continued Northbound on State Route 8 from Front Street.
9-3 While on patrol officers could hear yelling coming from the area of the neighborhood discount store. Officers were able to locate the suspects at Northmoreland Boulevard and Bailey Road. After speaking to both parties, officers discovered they had a verbal fight and were trying to separate. Both suspects stated nothing physical happened. Both suspects were warned for disorderly conduct and released from the scene.
9-4 A Cuyahoga Falls resident reported to police that on Agusut 31 between 10:30am and 12:00pm an unknown person(s) stole his dark blue Galaxy A15 from his residence in the 300 block of Bath Road. He paid $105 for the phone. The victim wished to prosecute. There are no leads or suspects at this time.
9-4 Officers made contact with a male who was seen pulling on car handles and suspected of stealing items from a nearby discount store. The male admits that he took two pieces of Fireball Candy. Officers spoke to the manager of the store who declined to prosecute. The male was warned for shoplifting and warned for pulling car handles in the parking lot.
9-6 A resident in the 3300 block of Prange Drive contacted police after he declined services from an unknown masseuse for charging too much, and now receiving death threats via text from an unknown suspect claiming to be the masseuse’s manager. The suspect stated over text “If you don’t wanna end this with blood pick up the phone.” The victim received another text from a different number stating, “I will be forced to send 5 of my best men to your address to make a visit that you will not like at all” and “if you do not pay the fine, we will proceed to act in a bad way..” The last message was followed up with graphic images. The victim states he does feel this suspect will cause serious physical harm to him. The victim declined prosecution.
9-8 Officers responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of Howe Avenue for reports of gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, officers identified multiple vehicles that were seen struck with gunfire. Officers identified two juvenile victims that were in one of the vehicles at the time it was struck by gunfire. The juveniles were uninjured and believed to be unintended targets. Officers collected witness statements from parties on scene. Video footage is available and there are potential leads to this case.
9-8 Police took a report in the 1500 block of Campbell Street where at approximately 7:12pm a woman’s Cuisinart coffee maker was stolen during a Facebook Marketplace transaction. The victim agreed to sell the coffee maker for $100 to an unknown male suspect. The male went to the victim’s house and took the coffee maker off the porch, without leaving the $100 that was agreed upon. The victim does wish to prosecute. There is a lead.
9-8 Police took a report from a Cathedral Lane resident who informed officers that she is being threatened by a guy she knows who used to go to her church. The victim stated the known male told her to no longer go back to Grace Cathedral or he will shoot her in the head. The victim said she doesn’t believe the threats but wanted it documented. Prosecution was declined. Officers cleared without further incident.
9-8 Police responded to 3 different complaints for abandoned vehicles: one on School Avenue, one on 11th Street, and one on Delmore Street. All three vehicles were ticketed, and police will be following up on the status of the three vehicles September 20.
9-9 A 56-year-old Warren man reported to Cuyahoga Falls police that an unknown person stole $418.49 worth of points from his Giant Eagle rewards points. The victim stated no one else has access to the rewards points and does not know how the suspect got into his account. The victim was given a copy of the report number on the scene, and he stated he does want to prosecute. There are leads.
