Cuyahoga Falls Police Blotter: September 3, 2025

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available September 3 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

8-20  Police responded to a restaurant in the 3200 block of State Road after a physical altercation inside the restaurant between two employees and two patrons continued with a verbal argument outside. The male then admitted to brandishing his firearm, holding it at waist level and racking the slide. There are conflicting statements on whether or not he pointed the firearm at the employee and other patron. The firearm was never discharged. The victims declined charges and were referred to the prosecutor for further action.

8-24  A grocery store in the 2600 block of State road reports that an unknown female attempted to shoplift a cart full of groceries valued at $488.91. Store security was able to stop the female from leaving with the cart after the final point of sale. The female left the store prior to police arrival. All merchandise was recovered, and the store  does wish to prosecute.

8-25  After making a traffic stop at State Road and Portage Trail, officers located two cans of Monaco vodka seltzer in the back passenger floorboard of the vehicle. There were no signs of intoxication, and the cans appeared to be old and warm. The suspect disposed of the open containers and was warned and released from the scene.

8-26  A Howe Avenue home improvement store reports an unknown male used the garden area to purchase a bottle of water. He then asked for change for a $100 bill and as the cashier was counting the money he took it from her hands to count it himself and only gave a partial amount back. The male took two $20s and one $100 bill for a total amount of $140 stolen. The male then walked out of the garden area and left in an unknown direction. Store security advised they are working on getting video. There are leads and they are willing to prosecute. No force was used or threat of force from the male.

8-26  A restaurant in the 1800 block of Front Street summoned police in reference to a male that entered the business and was causing a problem. The manager stated the man was yelling and throwing food around the restaurant in front of all their patrons. The male was found outside the business on the ground screaming and foaming at the mouth. An odor of an alcoholic beverage could be smelled coming from his breath and he was slurring his words, not making any sense. The suspect was transported to the hospital by CFFD and received a citation for Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated.

8-27  A Quick Road resident reported to police that someone stole her daughter’s make-up items out of her backpack. The cost of the make-up and brushes was $300. She does wish to prosecute.

8-27  During a traffic stop at Howe Avenue and Tallmadge Road open containers were observed, and a search revealed an open bottle of tequila. Neither occupant showed signs of impairment or alcohol odor. The driver was cited for Driving Under Suspension and other traffic violations and was warned about the open containers. The passenger took possession of the vehicle.

8-27  Police responded to a neighbor complaint in the 3400 block of Hunter Parkway. The current residents told police they are continuously being annoyed by the neighbors on both sides of their residence with pounding on walls and malodorous scents pouring into their bathroom and hallway. The resident says she has videos from the past of the pounding, and is now fed up with the shenanigans. She has already spoken to the property management about the ongoing problems. Officers suggested they continue to document and reach out to the Law Department for assistance. They were provided a business card with the report number for reference.

8-27  Police were called to the 600 block of Loomis Avenue where a resident reported that someone entered her unlocked residence without permission when she wasn’t home, took a pair of Asics athletic shoes from her son’s room, and departed. The value of the shoes was stated to be $140. The shoes were recovered. There are leads and a suspect. Prosecution is desired.

8-28  Police attempted a traffic stop at Plymouth Lane and Center Avenue on a mini motorcycle for no license plates and failure to use turn signals. When police activated their lights and siren, the vehicle fled. Police pursued it until it entered Kennedy Park, where they could no longer follow and subsequently terminated the pursuit. There are leads regarding the suspect.

8-29 Police were called to an establishment in the 1800 block of Front Street for a noise complaint. When police arrived, they observed a loud audible stereo coming from the stage area. Police spoke with the bar owner, and they were warned for loud stereo. They were also advised of the city noise ordinances. Cleared without further incident.

8-31 Police made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Horace Avenue. During the stop the driver began walking away. After being given multiple commands to stop, the driver disregarded the orders and fled on foot, attempting to enter a nearby residence. While pursuing the driver the officer sustained an injury. Upon apprehending the suspect and advising him that he was under arrest the suspect actively resisted officers. During the struggle, an officer also sustained an open abrasion of his hand. A subsequent search of the suspect revealed a hypodermic needle and a folded piece of aluminum foil. The suspect admitted both items were used for drug use. The suspect was transported to Western Reserve Hospital for evaluation. Arrest warrants were issued.
