This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available July 9 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

6-27  A 49-year-old Akron man reported someone stole his Speed Rid Ebike from the bike rack in the 2200 block of State Road. The bike was not locked and he also advised his backpack was also taken. Total loss is $1000. He does wish to prosecute.

7-1  Police responded to a report of theft at a home improvement store in the 300 block of Howe Road where the victim of the theft reports that he left his iPhone 14 at the store. He placed the phone on the self-checkout and left the store between the hours of 1700-1800 hours ; when he returned the phone was gone. He used the Find My Phone app  and the phone was pinging near Hudson Avenue in Akron. He does not wish to prosecute and was given a victim rights waiver.

7-2  A beauty shop in the 900 block of Portage Trail reported that an unknown person did make entry into her shop through the rear entry door. Her desk had been gone through, and all of the items were pulled out of the drawers and thrown onto the ground. The owner advised that she did not leave any money in the shop today and it did not appear that anything had been taken. There are leads and she will prosecute.

7-4  A passerby reported to police that he observed a male in a red hoodie, black sweatpants, and a clown mask, following people and growling at them. Police located the male and he was warned for disorderly conduct and advised of the city ordinance. Cleared without further incident.

7-5 Two Cleveland men were stopped by police on Route 8 near Graham Road. Officers detected the odor of freshly burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver admitted to possessing marijuana and further stated that he is under the age of 21. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of two bags containing raw marijuana and a marijuana blunt, all determined to be in the driver’s possession. Additionally, an open container of Lunazul tequila was located in a bookbag belonging to the passenger, found in the passenger side footwell. Both individuals were issued citations and released on scene.

7-7  An Akron woman reported to police that an unknown person or persons took her boyfriend’s Hyundai that she had parked in the parking garage near 2220 Front Street. Police  located the car in the same parking garage but in a different parking spot than she had left the vehicle. There are two suspects at this time. The woman is unsure of prosecution at this time. No signs of damage to the vehicle. Cleared without further incident.

7-7  Police responded to a department store in the 400 block of Howe Avenue where loss prevention reported two suspects came into the store, selected, concealed, and left the store with $119.97 worth of miscellaneous merchandise without permission. There are two suspects with no leads. Loss prevention does wish to sign charges on behalf of the store. Cleared without further incident.

7-7  A Tudor Avenue resident reported to police that an unknown subject did knowingly enter into or upon a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner or person. The unknown subject entered the unlocked tailgate portion of the victim’s Ford  truck without her permission and unsuccessfully attempted to disconnect the add-on backup camera. No damage was done to the vehicle, and no items were taken. The victim does wish to prosecute.

7-8  A Stow man reported to police that while his vehicle was parked at a car dealer in the 1200 block of Main Street an unknown party broke the driver’s side window and stole tools, a camera system and a GPS unit from the car. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $455. The broken window is estimated to cost $250. There are no known leads. The victim will prosecute.

7-8  Officers were dispatched for a call that a vehicle was swerving into on-coming traffic and running red lights on Front Street near Hudson Drive. Officers located the vehicle and observed the driver commit another traffic offense. The driver was later found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for OVI. She refused a chemical test to determine her BAC. The driver was released to her brother with a court date set for Stow Municipal Court.
