This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available June 25 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.
6-16 The property manager of an apartment complex on Americana Drive reported two unknown subjects attempted to break into the locked theater room causing damage to the door. The cost of repairs is estimated to be $300. The manager will prosecute.
6-17 Police responded to a discount store in the 600 block of Howe Avenue where the manager reported that two unknown males walked into the store, grabbed a shopping cart and took two Magnavox AC units ($399) and left the store without paying. The store wishes for prosecution. There are leads but no suspects at this time. Officers cleared without further incident.
6-18 A resident in the 1500 block of Second Street reported to police that an unknown suspect used an unknown object to break out the rear window of his vehicle overnight, causing $500 in damage. His vehicle was parked in the carport of his duplex. Due to no leads/suspects, this case is closed.
6-18 A drug store in the 600 block of Portage Trail reported to police that an unknown white male took a pair of headphones and a radio and fled out of the store without paying. The items were reported to be approximately $40 in value. The store does wish to prosecute. There is a lead.
6-18 A Washington Avenue resident reported to police that a known female posted false statements about her on an XBox Instagram account. The woman states she has a sponsorship deal with XBox for skateboarding and these false statements have jeopardized that sponsorship. She would like to prosecute.
6-19 A movie theatre in the 2900 block of State Road contacted police and fire for an overdose. A known female was found unconscious and not breathing. CFFD was performing CPR and two Narcan were administered on scene. CFFD transported the female to Western Reserve Hospital. No drugs or drug paraphernalia were found on scene at the business. While at the hospital, the female admitted to using heroin in the women’s restroom. No criminal charges to be filed.
6-19 A representative from a national lending company contacted police and reported involvement with a property located in the 2100 block of 17th Street, a condemned residence owned by the lender. According to the representative, no individuals should be occupying the property. He last visited the residence on/or around June 5, 2025. Today he observed that the screen door on the south side of the home appeared to have been forcibly pushed in. A thorough check of the interior was conducted, and no individuals were found inside. Attempts to contact the lender for follow-up were unsuccessful due to holiday scheduling. At this time, prosecution remains undetermined.
6-19 The owner of a nail salon in the 500 block of Howe Avenue contacted police because a homeless male was blocking traffic and distracting customers at her business. The male was slumped over on the sidewalk with a can of keyboard duster that was missing the nozzle. The can rolled away from him, and he stumbled after it. The man also had slurred speech. The man was charged with Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated.
6-19 Management from a home improvement store in the 100 block of Graham Road reported to police that an unknown male grabbed a Skil 4-tool Combo Kit from aisle 207 and left the store with the box without paying for the item, resulting in a loss of $199.99. The manager stated the store would like to prosecute. There is a lead and security footage is being requested by loss prevention staff.
6-19 Police were called to a pizza shop in the 1900 block of Bailey road where the manager reported that on June 18, 2025 at approximately 1536 and 1541 hours, two unknown individuals ordered food at the store and used counterfeit money to pay. The manager believes the two subjects arrived and left together but did not place their orders at the same time. An unknown male paid his bill of $12.75 with a counterfeit $50 bill. An unknown female also used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for her bill of $8.30.The manager provided officers with surveillance footage and photographs of the suspects. In total the shop incurred a loss of $100. The shop does wish to prosecute.
6-21 A 38-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman reported to police that she was scammed out of $1,050. The victim reports that she was contacted by two unknown people posing as Summit County deputies. The victim reports they rattled off names and badge numbers and the two told her that her brother could be released from Summit County jail if she paid $900. The victim did and then the scammers continued requesting money. Prosecution is desired.
6-21 Loss prevention from a drugstore in the 600 block of Portage Trail summoned police for a shoplifter in custody. When police arrived on scene and contacted loss prevention she stated that the suspect passed the point of sale without paying for six “buzz ball” alcoholic beverages and a pack of bio freeze patches. All merchandise was recovered by loss prevention . The suspect was charged with theft, given a summons, and released with a court date. The suspect is also trespassed by the store.
6-22 After a motorist contacted police concerning a vehicle driving all over the roadway on State Route 8 north and the driver was smoking a pipe. Officers located the suspect, who had walked away from his vehicle and reported that he was driving. The suspect went through field sobriety tests, and he was placed under arrest for OVI. The suspect refused the blood/urine test. The suspect was booked and released on a bond.
6-22 Police made a traffic stop on Route 8 near Broad Boulevard. After identifying the driver, officers observed indicators of impairment on the driver’s person and he was placed through field sobriety tests. Concluding the tests the driver was subsequently arrested and processed at the Cuyahoga Falls Jail. The suspect provided officers a breath sample which determined his BAC to be .165. The suspect was released from custody on a PR bond and transported to a detox facility. The vehicle was towed to B&B towing.
6-22 Police responded to a grocery store in the 200 block of Howe Avenue where loss prevention informed them that a known suspect passed the point of sale without paying for food items. The food items included fried chicken, chicken alfredo and Hawaiian Punch. The total loss reported was $24. The suspect left before PD was on scene. There is a suspect and leads. The store will prosecute.
6-24 A second pizza shop in the 1900 block of Bailey Road reports an unknown male used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for his pizza order. The false bill was detected by the bank during a routine deposit. The bank confiscated the bill but provided a photocopy. The pizza shop suffered a loss of $50. There are identified potential leads and the shop owner will prosecute.
