Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.
Planning & Zoning:
B-33: An ordinance accepting the recommendation of the planning commission for the construction of the Silver Birch Assisted Living Facility. Presented by Planning Director Rob Kurtz, this measure passed the planning commission on May 20 and will consist of a three story building with 120 units and will be on 7.4 acres of land located on Bath Road. The $17 million project is expected to bring 45 full time jobs to the Cuyahoga Falls. The planning and zoning committee voted to bring this out for a vote before all of council next Monday, June 9.
Finance & Appropriations:
B-34: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a modification of Contract No. 9276 with GPD Group. Presented by City Engineer Tony Demasi, the original contract with GDP started in 2021 and throughout that time the city has applied for and received federal grants for over $6 million to drastically lower the city’s share in this project. This legislation will modify the original contract to include design work and surveying and will be capped at $1,126,098. The finance committee voted to bring this out for a vote before all of council next Monday June 9.
