Cuyahoga Falls Police Report: February 12, 2025

This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available February 12 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

2-1 An Akron woman made a theft report after unknown person(s) stole her unattended black jacket containing her gloves and car keys, from an open cubbie at the Natatorium. The victim stated she searched throughout the Natatorium and could not locate her coat. Total value of stolen items is estimated at $60. Prosecution is desired

2-1  Two Kent men made a Facebook marketplace purchase of a Pokemon Crown Zenith Sea & Sky collection box in the parking lot of Oakwood Drive gaming establishment for $60 cash. The victim placed the box in the passenger seat of his car and went back inside the store for around 20 minutes. As he entered the car to leave, he found the box had been taken out of the car by an unknown suspect.

2-3  An employee of a Portage Trail drugstore, reports that a known person did cause inconvenience, annoyance and alarm to others in the business by yelling and getting upset at the clerk and other customers, and refused to leave when he was not allowed to buy cigarettes without an ID. Once on scene the employee advised police that the suspect left the scene and that she wished to have him trespassed from the business. Officers located the suspect nearby on a side street and gave a formal warning for trespass at the store. He was also given a warning for disorderly conduct and released.

2-4  The manager of a Graham Road home improvement store reported to police that an unknown male stole $1,896.44 of security systems and other merchandise. There are leads. The store does wish to prosecute.

2-5  The following day the same home improvement store reported to police that a male shoplifted $774.74 worth of products. The person filled a shopping cart with multiple items and pushed it past the point of sale and out the doors. The male loaded the merchandise into a vehicle and left the scene. The store will prosecute. There are suspects.

2-5  A Shannon Avenue resident reports that someone entered his unlocked detached garage, taking a snowboard and various tools. A tarp is used to secure the front of the garage and there are no signs of forced entry. The total amount for the stolen items is $1200. The victim will prosecute for Theft. No suspects or leads.

2-5  A 53-year-old Akron man was issued a summons for theft. The suspect stole a pair of Versace eyeglasses valued at $383,00. He placed them in his jacket pocket and walked out of a Portage Trail optometrist without paying. His court date at Stow Court is pending. He was transported to Summit County Jail for an outstanding arrest warrant.

2-6  During a traffic stop police talked to both the driver and passenger. Police asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, and he consented to a search of his person, which yielded nothing. The driver informed officers that there were pipes in the vehicle used for crack cocaine. Police then asked the passenger to step out, and he also consented to a search, which yielded nothing. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found three glass pipes with burnt/white residue and one chore boy. The driver later admitted that the paraphernalia was his. He was cited for the violations and released.

2-5  A 20-year-old Stow man was arrested for criminal damaging after he was found “turfing” the baseball field at Water Works Park. The suspect caused $600 in damage to the field. He was also found to be illegally possessing marijuana, given that he is under the age of 21. He was issued two summonses to Stow Court. The marijuana was placed into property and his mother drove the vehicle home.

2-7  A Grocery store in the 2600 block of State Road reported to police that an unknown female pushed a cart containing alcohol past the final point of sale in the liquor department. The female was approached by associates and left the cart and items. The amount of alcohol was $368.20. The female then pushed a different shopping cart out of the store building without paying containing several steaks, other food items, and other merchandise totaling $657.01. The female was stopped again and the cart of merchandise was recovered before the female fled. These two events happened during the same timeframe as part of the same incident and total value is $1,025.21. There are leads and prosecution is desired.

2-10  Police responded to a Front Street hotel for a report of an intoxicated driver. Another officer working a security detail advised the officer of the matter. Upon arrival at the scene, officers identified the female driving with indicators of impairment from the suspect. She was placed through field sobriety tests. Concluding the tests, the suspect was arrested. The suspect was transported to Western Reserve Hospital with an attempt to conduct a blood or urine draw. The suspect was then transported to Cuyahoga Falls Jail where she was released on a personal recognizance bond and was released to a sober party at the station.
