This is a sampling of Cuyahoga Falls police reports made available August 28 and is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all events occurring in the city. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

8-13  A resident in the 2500 block of 4th Street called for police after someone entered his work van while it was parked overnight in the street in front of his residence. He stated it was locked but there were no signs of forced entry. Miscellaneous tools in a tool bag were taken, valued at approximately $1,700. He does wish to prosecute.

8-14  A Quick Road resident contacted police with a vandalism report after discovering that an unknown person(s) keyed the tailgate on his truck with the word “die.” The victim believes this occurred while he was parked at Woodridge Middle School for his son’s football practice. Estimated damage $200.00. There are no leads. The resident does not want to pursue charges.

8-16  The police were requested by a resident on Iota Street after the resident discovered an unknown suspect used her personal identifying information to get access to her bank account. The unknown suspect stole $20,088.42 from the savings account. The resident reported this to their bank and froze their accounts. The victim does want to press charges. No leads or suspects at this time. Due to the victim’s age they are part of the protected class and the degree of the charges are elevated.

8-25  After responding to a one-car motor vehicle crash in the 1000 block of West Bath Road, police observed inside the vehicle there were three juvenile males, two of whom were not in a car seat or required booster seat. The suspect smelled of alcohol, admitted consuming alcohol before operating a motor vehicle, had bloodshot eyes, and was unsteady on her feet. After sobriety tests, the suspect was arrested for OVI and later submitted a breath sample over the legal limit. The driver was charged with three counts of child endangerment, OVI, failure to control, two counts of child restraint system, no valid driver’s license, and driver required to wear a seat belt. The driver was later released to a sober party. CSB was contacted.

8-26  Police made a traffic stop on a driver after observing a marked lanes violation on Broad Boulevard near 6th Street. The driver and registered owner appeared to be impaired and was arrested for OVI and transported to the jail. During an administrative search of her purse before going into the jail facility, Police found one pill in a plastic bag believed to be amphetamine dextroamphetamine, a Schedule Il drug of abuse. The suspect submitted to a breath test and blew over the legal limit. The suspect was charged with OVI, drug possession, and marked lanes and was taken to detox and released into their care.
