Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings. The public is free to comment on pending legislation during the allowed time set aside as part of committee meetings.
New Ordinances & Resolutions
B-34: An ordinance authorizing and approving the final subdivision plat for dedication of the Bellaire Lane cul-de-sac located on Bellaire Lane approximately 2,500 feet west of Quick Road. Assigned to the planning and zoning committee for discussion on April 17.
B-35: An ordinance approving a regulatory text amendment to Section 1133.04(A)(5) to allow for the keeping of chickens in R-2, R-3 and R-4 Zoning Districts. Assigned to the planning and zoning committee for discussion next Monday.
B-36: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, according to law, for the Second Street sanitary sewer rehabilitation. Assigned to the public and industrial improvements committee for discussion April 17.
B-37: A resolution expressing support for and urging passage of Issue 8, the Woodridge Local School District Levy, at the primary election to be held on May 2, 2023. This was assigned and discussed in the public affairs committee in a special meeting tonight. Present to discuss some facts and figures were district treasurer, Tom Morehouse and new Superintendent Nichole Ott. Ohio law does not permit school officials to promote levies on the ballot; the information they presented was enlightening. This will be a renewal levy and makes up 14% of the system’s current operating budget. The committee agreed to bring this resolution out for a vote before full council and passed it tonight 11-0.

Sustainability, Energy & Environment:
Temp. Ord. B-31: An ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a NOPEC Energized Community Grant Agreement with Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council, Inc. for energy efficiency or energy infrastructure projects. Passed 11-0.
Finance & Appropriations:
B-29: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with Bell Equipment Company to purchase a used rear load sanitation truck. Passed 11-0.
B-30: An ordinance authorizing the director of public service to enter into a contract or contracts, without competitive bidding, with Sherman and Reilly Inc. for the purchase of braking reel trailer equipment, appurtenances, and services. Passed 11-0.
Public Affairs:
B-32: An ordinance authorizing the mayor to execute the participation forms for settlement with Teva, Allergan, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart pursuant to the OneOhio Memorandum of Understanding and consistent with the material terms of the proposed settlement agreements. Passed 11-0.
B-33: A resolution authorizing the mayor to apply for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Clean Ohio Trails Fund Grant to construct Phase II of the Mud Brook Greenway. Passed 11-0.
During the beginning of the meeting the clerk read the resignation letter presented by Council at Large Tim Gorbach, effective April 14. During the miscellaneous business portion of the meeting councilmembers took turns wishing Mr. Gorbach well and thanking him for his service to the city. As written in the city charter the replacement shall be chosen within thirty (30) days of the vacancy by the precinct committee members within the city of the same party as the person vacating the seat.
